Elvis is an upcoming biographical musical film directed by Baz Luhrmann, from a screenplay written by Luhrmann, Sam Bromell, Craig Pearce, and Jeremy Doner, with a story by Luhrmann and Doner. The film tells the life and career of pop and movie star Elvis Presley (Austin Butler) as well as his relationship with his manager Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). Luke Bracey, David Wenham, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Kodi Smit-McPhee, Gary Clark Jr., and Richard Roxburgh also star. The film is dedicated to the memory of The Ladd Company's founder Alan Ladd Jr., who died in March 2022.
Elvis will have its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on May 25, and is scheduled to be theatrically released in Australia on June 22, 2022, by Universal Pictures, and in the United States on June 24, by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Then people talk about how he thinks he’s Elvis but it’s like bro grew up on him found a way to connect to him through his moms death literally had to embody the man so obviously some things are going to stay BUT it’s also like 3 FREAKING YEARS OF VOICE TRAINING no shit his voice got deeper.

Austin Butler's performance is amazing, & he definitely ldeserves an Oscar nomination Wow,!. I loved the movie. It teaches us a lot of history about him & also his friendship with black musicians. & his personal life.. Typicall beautiful flashy Baz Luhrman film with colors & his outfits and true to the one's he wore.

Thank you for a great reaction. So many people, including myself until I watched this movie (although my husband tried to tell me), what an impact Elvis had, not just on music and performance, but on the American societal landscape. My husband, a college professor, said Elvis punched a hole into America’s cultural fabric and allowed fresh water to pour in, helping to fuel the Civil Rights movement, sexual revolution, and counterculture. The genie was out of the bottle and there was no going back. I feel ridiculous for not realizing it sooner.

Now that the movie has been out for a week now….wow…just wow….this movie takes you back to how entertaining movies can be. The soundtrack is unbelievable…..I’ve seen the movie 8 times now and I learn something new each time….I’m so pleased that Elvis’s music and legacy will not be forgotten….TCB ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Thanks for your reaction, I was a child of the 50,s and he took so much flack from everyone people thought he was "of the devil" I am now 78 and I think Parker hurt him him. Elvis broke the race barrier when white stations would not play black artist, he changed the culture and styles, he was one of the greatest humanitarians who ever lived, and known through out the world for his gospel songs. There is a statue of Elvis in every major country in the world

It really feels like this movie is going to touch on a lot of topics regarding Elvis the musician and elvis the person and not just Elvis the Icon jumpsuit idol. Baz seems to understand that there was so much more behind the hip shaking or the sun glasses. There was so much connection with his gospel roots. So much things he wanted to speak on but couldn't because of his manager.. That whole period where he chose to record social songs and how that got him into heated arguments with the colonel. I've seen bits and pieces of all of that in those 2 trailers and that gives me the feeling that this could finally put the respect elvis and his roots deserves

can't wait to see this film it looks great. I still remember where i was when he died i was 14 and was working in a hair salon and it came on the radio. My mum liked Elvis so i grew up listening to him and did enjoy his music myself. thanks for this, great to see Lisa on board.

I would highly recommend checking out the video. "If I Can Dream" from the '68 Comeback Special. Really shows you who and what Elvis was without all the Circus slideshow stuff that people ridiculously think he was. Very raw and honest.

The music from 1960 onwards is actually Elvis's voice occasionally segued in with Austin Butler .... apparently Butler sings the earlier Elvis material. Cannot wait for this to be released next month ...

I live about 30 mins away from Graceland and have been many times. My sister and I went again this past Sat. We met a british couple that was so much fun! They also gave us a pence. I think that's what it's called? Just for keepsakes. I know I'm biased after spending time with them, but y'all rock! 🤗🙌

Hey family: When are you going to see Elvis? Waiting for your input on it. Austin definitely deserves an Oscar nomination & I loved the movie. It's flashy & flamboyant, I felt like I was at an Elvis concert You can tell it's a Baz Luhrman's film.

This evening, I went through reaction videos on Baz Luhrmann's Elvis trailer, which imo is the best movie trailer since the first trailer of Mad Max: Fury Road. And then I came across the reaction video on the 2nd trailer of yours. I just fell in love with the gorgeous lady in the middle! Greetings from The Netherlands (same country where Colonel Parker a.k.a. Dries van Kuijk was born).

A terrible actor???? Elvis was brilliant!!! Try carrying 31 feature movies with scrips that were not Oscar winners. Yet still make em hits! Let’s give ELVIS some credit. He does discuss the movies in 72 but continue listening… he defends, they are for entertainment!!!! And boy do they still entertain! Loved the reaction! Thanks for doing it xxx TCB

Yeah And he has tried to get casted in a quite a serious role like famously in A Star Is Born (The Babra Streisand version) and West Side Story it just that Tom Parker really limiting what Elvis has to do . And i can even say in each of his film , Elvis did has that knack of acting it just that he always get a not so good script .

A great review guys! 👍 Elvis was a good actor, he was given mainly corny scripts, but in the serious ones, Elvis showed his great potential, as noted by the top award-winning directors and actors of the day. Many stated he was a natural instinctive actor that could have become one of the great est dramatic actors if he'd been given time and the right scripts. He also had great comedic timing. Elvis had the talent, unfortunately, Parker was only interested in making a quick buck!😕✌

This one amazing singer is covering "Way Down" on his patreon page in a couple of days and video available next Friday on KZfaq. His name is Geoff Castellucci. He has a solo channel he started in 2020 and is the bass singer for an acapella group called VoicePlay. They do all covers but not a karaoke band. They arrange the songs differently and put their own spin on song while still maintaining much respect to the original. As a group, they covered "Can't Help Falling In Love" in 2019 or 2020. They make at least one video a month and do everything themselves except final mix. Can't wait to hear Geoff's version of "Way Down". He has a 5 or 6 octave range from deepest bass to high tenor. Make JD Sumner jealous. They are on KZfaq. They do Disney, musicals, Broadway, songs from movies, video games, pop and classic rock. Last month VoicePlay did cover of "Dream On" by Aerosmith.

Fun fact Austin is a blondie, he dyed his hair for the role. He’s not really an actor, but he does sing, so they re-recorded Elvis songs.

Not nearly as good as the first trailer. as a matter of fact it gives me less desire to see the movie.
