Many years ago they used to have three regions in the North they used to have BBC North West which was broadcast from Manchester which served the Granada region there was BBC North East and Cumbria from Newcastle which served the Tyne Tees region and there was BBC Yorkshire and BBC Yorkshire and Lincolnshire from Leeds which served the Yorkshire Television region.

There were three Northern regions back then there was BBC North West Today and Tonight from Manchester, BBC Look North for North East England and Cumbria then Look North Yorkshire from Leeds covering regional news for both the Yorkshire and Yorkshire and Lincolnshire region.
