Mandelson is one who received handouts from elites. He was bought and sold out. " He was undone on that occasion by the revelation that he had bought a fashionable home in Notting Hill, with the help of an interest-free £373,000 loan from his millionaire ministerial colleague Geoffrey Robinson. When Mr Mandelson filled in a Britannia Building Society mortgage form to buy the house in 1996 he had failed to mention the loan. Nor did it appear on his entry in the Commons Register of Interests....newspaper accusations that he helped the Indian billionaire Srichand Hinduja to secure a British passport in return for a £1 million donation to help fund the Dome's Faith Zone. When the story broke Mr Mandelson said an inquiry about Mr Hinduja's passport application had been dealt with by his Private Secretary, not him personally. It soon became apparent from Home Office records that Mr Mandelson had personally telephoned Home Office Minister Mike O'Brien."

I worked for several years in Corbyn's constituency, although I lived on the other side of the Thames. One thing his constituents said a lot was what a very good MP he is, sorting out serious problems for individuals. Just like the Tories who said the 1945 Labour landslide happened because the ignorant electorate thought they were voting for Churchill.

If Corbyn was so unpopular how was it he got 40% share of the vote back in 2017 and Starmer only got a few percentage more at most share of the vote compared to the disastrous 2019 result for Labour that Mandelson is banging on about. Being a really respected MP in Islington is not the same as winning a General Election. I used to be really pro-PR but imagine Farridge and his bigot brigade under PR. What a horror show that would be. I now think tactical voting is the way to go. Tactical voting is what worked this time. It wasn't so much that Labour won, the Tories lost massively. Look how well the Lib Dems did. A lot of the credit should go to Carol Vorderman and that website she set up. You just put in your postcode and it suggested the party that was best placed to beat the Tories. My sister was in a safe Tory constituency and she's always voted Labour. This time she voted Lib Dem and it worked.

It’s widely acknowledged it’s a flawed system that blocks out smaller voices and is responsible for the two party system. Surprise, surprise, Mick doesn’t want to get rid of it because he backs one of two parties that benefit from it. There’s less than 50 countries that use it in the world and most of those were colonised by Britain at some point. Most of Europe sussed it years ago. And Mick’s ‘no government’ statement is completely false. There are more coalitions due to it, if that’s what he means, but that’s exactly why it’s fairer. Parties who are voted for, should have a say, representative to the number of votes they received. Time to move on.

I think that could be said of Labour too. Blair had a big enough majority to change it, should he have wanted to. The electoral system is obviously busted, but if you get to form a government with a majority suddenly it's not all that bad anymore (for you!) regardless of your rosette colour!

It’s all about the allocation or resources and the division of Labour; that concept as a revolution in human evolution in the Iron Age, but of course Karl Marx thought he knew better than the thousands of generations, and billions of people that that came before him; just like, it would seem, you.

The problem is the calibre of people that become politicians. Basically the job needs to be more attractive. Over the years parliament has been made up of 650 MPs most of whom are moronic. Most of whom I would not trust to clean my house, look after my kids or make me a meal because they would mess it up. Respect for the likes of Mick Lynch who clearly is knowledgeable, speaks eloquently and has firm beliefs; whilst I don’t always agree with his standpoint the system would be better if being a full time MP was an attractive career move for this calibre of person.
