That's the beauty of football. There's so much variety, you can't really pick the perfect 11. If they build 3 teams with 3 different formation, we'll have much better conclusion. 4-4-2 with Gerrard and Lampard has been tried and tetsted way too many times. It just couldn't work out. The combo would be much better in 4-5-1.

Hard to imagine that N'Golo Kante wouldn't get a spot if this was revisited today. They severely underrated Nemanja Vidic, guy was literally the best CB in the world at his peak which can't be said for any other center halfs on that list. In addition he won a shit ton of trophies and probably has the highest peak level of any CB in premier league history. They barely even considered him, Rio was great but Vidic was better and should have been on the list.

The thing with hazard was he wouldn’t have good games. He would have a good 10 seconds in a game. But what he would do in them ten seconds would end up winning the game for Chelsea. He wasn’t inconsistent that’s just what he was like. He is without doubt one of the best players in the prem of the last 5-10 years we are so lucky to grace some of these names

Strikers are the hardest part but for me comes down to numbers, Shearer is the all time top scorer so should be the Striker simple as that. Henry is the second all time top Scorer but not only that was one of the most feared Players to play against in the Premier League. As a Tottenham fan I hated him but can't deny how good he was. Giggs was at the top for longer than anyone, in his peak he was electric and was a very feared player and was consistent and never dropped off. Roy Keane was a simple pick and was by far the best Midfielder in Premier League history. He was the reason United won what hey did, even all his team mates have stated it was his drive that gave them that extra bit at matches to grab late Goals. That man was Alex Ferguson on the Pitch and was the greatest ever Captain. 2 Players I just left out which was very close was Ronaldo and Lampard, issue with Lampard was yes he scored Goals and sometimes made good passes but he wasn't all round like Keane and Gerrard. Keane and Gerrard had everything, they could pass, score goals, tackle, dictate play, drive their Team on, box to box, Lampard wasn't all of that but Scholes was more gifted. Ronald didn't have long enough otherwise he would have been picked, for me he had 2/3 outstanding seasons in England.

I think all three of Lampard, Gerrard and Scholes could have played together. The problem was England crowbarring players into a flat 4-4-2 formation (like the one on this video) that couldn't accommodate them...as well as insisting on playing two strikers in an old fashion model. It's so obvious that it should have been: Scholes Gerrard Lampard Thats England's midfield should have setup. Scholes playing as the holding midfielder with Gerrard and Lampard playing in front of him.
