Disassembling the body on a 1972-1993 Dodge Ram pickup. In this video I go thru taking apart the wiring, windshield wipers, brakes, steering, cables and hoses that are required to pull the cab off the vehicle. I also show some of the factory markings that are present from when it was built. This particular specimen is a 1992 club cab d350 automatic. It is my intention to put this cab on my diesel powered d600 in the future. I hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!

We have that same magical white powder here too, I haven't parted out one of those body style trucks in 10 years I guess, well there was one last summer that I parted a 72 sno commander, but that was mostly look wiggle and it self dismantled. Also had the famous Flintstone floors.. Come to think of it, I think I had the same Flintstone brakes too... Still my favorite color scheme and body style for rams and ramchargers. Loved how Chrysler said okay guys 1981 is a new body style year, what can we do to update the body. Chief engineer, fenders, doors and bed maybe and update most everything else. Finance guy comes back, we've got way to many cabs left over from the last run. Engineer says okay we'll keep the cab the same and make everything else fit it.

My wife and I, both close to 80 did a frame-off restoration of our 81 short bed Dodge last year. It was a year-long job. Painted it bright yellow. put bumblebee stripes from the top of the topper to the bottom of the truck and put a honey bee with the words honey bee around the bee. Drove it 1,000 miles, while letting it warm up the slant 6 coughed one time when the choke came off, and that caused the top of the carb to break. The rest was history as the cab was burned from the dash forward.

Hi Brian ! Viewer Fan here! Nice to see a video! Is your truck a manual trans? Changing floor pan panels, will that give you the sifter hole ? Give the inspector/shop boss a pet and scratch for me! So ready for track inspection on Hyster? Can wait to see the burn out! Are you making a run in both directions to see witch way handles best?!

The D600 has a flatter floor and a bolt in trans tunnel. A feature sadly the cabs had lost by 1992 so I will have to do some modifications. Still waiting on parts for the forklift. It still needs wiring, exhaust, brake booster and intake, plus floorboard mods to clear transmission. It is running really good though. I may change turbos to an HX55 though if it will fit.

Please tell me we're going to learn some brilliant Brian block fix for sagging headliners. I keep pinning mine up into place but it just droops somewhere else. I was going to try spray adhesive, but quite a few auto techs convince me this was a bad idea. Would love to learn a functional fix
@bcbloc02
@bcbloc02 2 жыл бұрын
Adhesive rarely works because the foam is falling apart and it just keeps turning to dust so there is nothing to stick it too. The only real fix I know of is new foam and cloth to build a new headliner.

Well I think I started on it on a Tuesday afternoon and it was off by Saturday night but I also was doing other shop jobs, working my day job, mowing grass, fixing tires and the other usual stuff. As far as actual labor hours I spent working on it I would say it took me 8-10 hours. It could have been a lot less but several of the interior fasteners that hold the carpet and seat belts in had corrosion damage and did not want to come loose so I had to weld nuts on them to get them out and that took more time.
