This is one of the programmes on BBC television from several decades ago. It is marvelous that it has found its way to KZfaq. No other programme quite like it was ever produced. It is unique and every episode was a delight to view. Well done, Uploader of this episode.

Lived in Stamford for most of my life and I'm a Collyweston slater so this film absolutely resonates with me! Have worked on several of the roofs featured in this film!

As a Rutlander at the time of the original screening I was very often in Stamford so this film shows it exactly as I knew it - thanks for uploading!

Threre were three series made, then Alec joined the choir invisible. Some time ago, the whole three series were uploaded here - then disappeared again - probably copyright issues. Nice to see some reappear again...

then modern architecture happened. Never has such a high architectural water mark been reached since Edwardian times.

It's not the 'brash, high-rise blocks' that are the problem, it's the detached houses in new developments.
