Ok so this is a dumb question, but as a non native English speaker I don't really understand what's being implied with the word "crippling" in this particular case. Can someone explain to me what this particular verse means? I feel like the meaning of a great punchline is totally lost on me lol.

@@luigymrobles I'd also add that the term 'crippling interest' is used in political economics to describe interest rates so high on loans they 'cripple' the economy of the country receiving the loan. Isaac is using that as a metaphor for his relationship - like a bank giving a loan, the relationship felt at the time like a generous gift, but has since cost him far more than he expected, hence the 'crippling interest'.

Thank you for the random strangers on the internet that put me onto this band. They are indeed something special and a diamond in the rough when it comes to composing music in 2022. This is the type of music that attaches us to the soul of sound. They aren't necessarily making 100% original or unique in the genre they are in but its unique in the sense of just elevating that post-indie rock sound with jazz elements & production/lyrics/composition of the whole damn album that is something to celebrate in this day in age where music can be overly-processed copy/paste pick a relatable word and make a song about it.

Instrumental Intro (0:00 - 3:18) Part I (3:18 - 5:25) Concorde flies in my room Tears the house to shreds Defines the night as such A home for us, stick insects And leaves no trace of luck At every market town that we intersect I die like fifteen times The dark blue stem brings me to their breast And I'm feeling kinda normal with a packed lunch Train rides don't hurt much these days We're all working on ourselves and we're praying that the rest don't mind how much we've changed So if you see me looking strange with a fresh style I'm still not feeling that great And then it's in soft-focus all around you You can't see the football game On my dad's sofa, we are still, and we never look at our phones anymore Instrumental (5:25 - 6:39) Part II (6:39 - 7:51) Oh, I can't think of anything better Pick a hair off my sweater And drown in me Like boyfriend jeans Oh, I haven't felt this way in, like ever I am the convo, you are the weather And the clamp is a cracked smile cheek And it tortures me I haven't felt this way in, like ever I am the convo, you are the weather And the clamp is a cracked smile cheek And it tortures me Instrumental (7:51 - 9:46) Part III (9:46 - end) In my bedsheets, now wet Of Charlie, I pray to forget All I've been forms the drone, we sing the rest Oh, your generous loan to me, your crippling interest And my bedsheets, now wet Of Charlie, I pray to forget All I've been forms the drone, we sing the rest Oh, your generous loan to me, your crippling interest Oh, in my bedsheets, now wet Of Charlie, I pray to forget All I've been forms the drone, we sing the rest Oh, your generous loan to me, your crippling interest ..

This album has not even been out for a week, yet I have come to the conclusion that this is definitely one of my favourite albums of all time. Their first record blew me away, but this one takes things up to a thousand. This song right here brings the whole album together, it completes it and makes the album feel like an adventure. Encompassing various melodies from previous songs and then the last few moment having the melody from the first song, looping the album and connecting the ends together. This song literally brought upon the albums existence too. The melancholic last few minutes with the crushing guitars makes me sob super hard every time, this album came out at a point of my life that is right now extremely difficult and probably one of the hardest it's ever been for me. Which makes this album that more special to me. Knowing that Isaac left the band 5 days before the release makes everything that more emotionally impactful too. Thank you so much, BC,NR

I showed one of the first recordings of this song to a girl I was talking to. Two years later we're not talking anymore and a whole lot has happened. Don't know if this is coming full circle, but music knows how to pull these ones on ya!

What an experience, what a great way to close a spectacular album. Such passion and care and thought is shown throughout these songs. The arrangements, the orchestration and the musicianship from all of you is stellar. Isaac's pen and pathos will be sorely missed, but what a triumphant way to go. Whish you all the very best.

I dont wanna be that commenter who tells their life story in every comment section, but the last couple years have been the worst in my life. Lost family, lost friends, lost lovers... i think a lot of us have been waiting for something that really kicks off how the rest of this decade should be. A time of mourning for everyone weve lost, and somehow find it in ourselves to continue pushing for the future.

One of the best songs in history. Each part of it is phenomenal. The saxophone, the math rock for the uplifting part, the Post-Rock epic crescendos, his emotional voice breaking. I mean, the whole album is a masterpiece and this song is beyond words.

this song been out for a while now, still I'm speechless. I love this band so much the theatrical instrumental and passages brings emotions I forgot were there for a while and on top of that Isaac's lyrics omg. Thank u guys so much for this, I love this band. Godspeed Isaac thanks for warming our hearts with ur dismal, sincere and relatable lyrics, hope u feel better. Fly high, concorde
