Order VESSELS now! smarturl.it/Vessels-NPR
iTunes: smarturl.it/Vessels-DL
OUT NOW!
Your eyes should considerably lighten up when somebody casually mentions the name Be`lakor! These filigrane, sophisticated tunes of this Melbourne fivepiece definitely have the potential to enthrall masses wih this absolute fantastic output of Australian melodic death metal! The eight pillar songs Vessels is built upon definitely satiate your hunger for progressive structures and technical prowess, but at the same time these new compositions live for intense, passionate and deeply disquieting melodic death metal. Sense and sensibility from Down Under: Be'lakor's fourth full length album will drag this whole world down into its darkness!
Intense, passionate and deeply moving melodic death metal from Down Under

It's pretty hard sometimes, not having anyone else in my actual life to share this with who would appreciate it. But this I know, that there are others out there who realize how good this is. And I guess I should be thankful for that. I guess we all should.

The river had brought with it much that day, From driftwood to blood from the ember Some things were hidden While others were seen Yet the man somehow could not remember... Having ambled away from the water's banks To return to his tribe and their lights, He soon found a failing, Of flesh, and of mind - They were no longer robust or bright What he could not have seen Was the sickness upstream; Those abandoned remains of the wasted What he could not have known Was the blight of the bone In each ebb and each flow he had tasted Dawn found him ailing, delirium rife Those he loved feared his illness would wander With time wearing thin, His young eyes clouded in As the odour of smoke became stronger It was then that he heard the sharp crackle of torches, Carried past him by men from his clan A panic cut through All the life that he knew It was over before it began Rope looped his wrists and held tight to his veins As beside him his relatives sagged And with tears in their eyes, Through confusion and cries, Out towards the wild flames he was dragged Like billions before him, regardless of form, It ended as chance had decided So briefly contained, An inferno's refrain, Having powered and angered and guided At the heart of the blaze, awareness dissolved Light ascended devoid of desire From a trail intertwined, Life and death strewn behind, To the stars, it returned, from the fire

“The Smoke Of Many Fires” tells the story of a man getting ill by drinking from a local river. His relatives become anxious about his condition and fear his illness could spread, so they plan to kill him in a big stake. The man soon finds himself bound and being taken to the pyre which is already surrounded by his grieving family. Source - genius.com

Belakor has been truly an outstanding addition to the melodeath genre. I actually did not like most of the songs on this particular album, but no grudge; this song plus An Ember's Arc are excellent. Belakor, you deserve some serious metalhead recognition. The part that starts around 4:45 hit me like a truck.

Even though this song is about something completely different, the last part got me thinking of my dad that passed away this easter. He always wanted to be cremated and poured in the local giant lake were we live. You're back to the nature, dad. Rest in peace. Roam the stars like a boss.
