Be Quiet’s Pure Loop 2 FX 3 60 is an aRGB closed loop AIO that is competitively priced with other 3 60 mm AIO's at around 155 USD, but is it any good? Let's find out.
What's up everyone, Erik here and welcome to Hardware for Gamers, for those of you who are new to the channel I review and test PC cases, CPU coolers, PC case fans, and graphics cards. Before I get into the overview, to have full disclosure Be Quiet did send me this cooler, to testing review, but all the opinions expressed in this video are mine, so if you do end up liking this video, please hit that like button and subscribe to the channel. It really does help.
Now for that overview, Be quiet has 2 lines of AIO’s. The Pure Loop 2 and the Pure Loop 2 FX.
With the main difference between them being the fans. The Pure Loop 2 comes with the Pure Wings 3 HS and the FX comes with the Light Wings HS, which do have a higher max rated RPM.
Next, let's see what you get in the Pure Loop 2 FX 3 60 box. there is the AIO and fans, a box filled with all the mounting hardware. Which are separated into a bunch of little plastic bags. There is a small tube of thermal compound, a 100 ml bottle of clear coolant, a well illustrated manual, and there is also an aRGB Fan hub that is powered by SATA.
The Hub has two leads, a 4 pin PWM fan connector, and a 3 pin aRGB 50 50 connector. These are to plug into the motherboard. So, you can control the aRGB LEDs using the motherboards LED software, and control the speed of the fans by using a program like fan control or the UEFI. Looking at the radiator, it is aluminum, with a FPI of 21. FPI is fins per inch. The tubing is rubber with a nylon cover and is a pretty typical length at 400 mm.
The pump is not inside the block. It is on or in the tubing. The pump has a 4 pin PWM connector, with a Max rated RPM of 5500. the block has a plastic cap, there are 5 volt aRGB LEDs under this cap. The cold plate of the block is copper with a nickel plating. The dimensions of this block is 70 mm wide by 64 mm long by 50 mm deep.
Moving on to the fans. So, the fans are Be Quiet Light wings HS fans, so they have aRGB LEDs with a 3 pin aRGB 50 50 connector. They also have a 4-pin PWM connector, there are 9 blades on the fan, they have rubber pads on each corner. The max rated RPM is 2500. The bearing is a Rifle Bearing.
If you what to know more about these fans I do have a fan review of them, I’ll link it in the description.
Okay, the dimensions of the radiator with the fans attached is 397 mm long by 120 mm wide and 52 mm deep.

I have the 280 version and to be fair my cpu now runs a lot cooler than it did with my previous air cooler. Although, to be honest my air cooler was a Vetroo V5 with 2 arctic p12 slims on it (the original fan died after about 2 months so had to improvise, that's probably why my aio has better temps 😂) I really like it though, it runs quiet and I haven't noticed my cpu go over 64c yet. I stumbled across this vid and found it really informative. Going to have a nosey at your back catalogue now 😊

Wow! I always thought a AIO would cool a CPU much better than a standard fan(s)/radiator. I've posted here before that I really like the Be Quiet brand, and I know their fans are always more expensive. But that's a BIG difference in price points for what would amount to virtually the same results! (I'd still buy the Be Quiet, though! 😁 ) Great review, I learned a lot!

I really think it comes down to mounting pressure and flatness (relative to the IHS anyway). most AIOs are pretty flat but don't really have the greatest mounting pressure.

I recommend to get the non FX version. Has the same nice RGB on the block covering the CPU with none on the fans. I bought recently due to the fact that it was the cheapest available 360 AIO I could find at $105 or so. Works just as well as anything else for much less money.

Works great for my tuned 5800x. Keeps temps in the 70's even at sustained 100% load. With ryzen the boost table is temperature determinant, so if you can keep the cpu under 80c it will run much smoother.

Can this AIO be installed at the top (not in the front) of the Be Quiet Silent Base 802? Also, do you recommend it for cooling 13700k? Thanks!

This AIO is fine...just can't abide that pump wad in the lines. That is a serious eyesore. They did it that way to avoid patent infringement.

@@HardwareForGamersWell, it's unnecessarily insinuating towards vulgarity, and I just don't see the reason why one would keep it.
