A truly original woman. A wonderful comedienne with an immaculate sense of timing and feel for an audience. Her appearance evolved along the way until she was truly beautiful in later years. We do miss her so much....

Exactly! Bea as Maude was ahead of the times. As well as Dorothy on Golden Girls. She should be looked up to as how a actress plays a role

She was the most beautiful in The Golden Girls!

Bea has been gone nearly twelve years and I still miss her. Her comedic timing and sharp rapier wit were cornerstones to a fantastic career in comedy. Bea was my favorite Golden Girl and I have, thanks to reruns, gotten to love Maude as well. Continue to rest in paradise, Bea.

I know many probably say this. But Bea was not just someone I watched on TV for her role in The Golden Girls, she was, and still is, my inspiration. Watching her on TV was amazing. And just Like Dorothy, that was the kind of woman Bea truly was. I had the pleasure of meeting her in person, and I loved every second of it. I was so happy that I let her know that not only did she touch my heart and soul, but the heart and souls of all those in America. I do truly miss Bea to this day, and there doesn’t a day go by that I don’t watch an episode of The Golden Girls without crying my eyes out. May god bless her, and hold her in the palm of his hand

My favorite golden girl loved her sarcasm and irony. She was elegant and great actress and beautiful when young, she never stopped being beautiful it was unfair to say she was ugly and masculinized in Golden girls
@desertrose12262 жыл бұрын
Bea was not ugly at all. She just wasn’t delicate or girlie. It’s hard to be cute when you’re past about 5’7” and Bea was 5’9”!!

This was so nice! I was watching Golden Girls... The episode where Rose had thrown her a party at a children's place. OMG! I was weak! The looks she could give! But that episode also had a scene where someone played a young Dorothy which made me want to see what she really looked like in her younger years. Thank you for sharing this ♥

Bea Arthur was remarkably Graceful, Funny and Very Intelligent, she showed the world that when people get old. They still have the passions and feelings of young people. I was devestated when she died. I feel so Lucky that I was able to appreciate her work while being alive at the same time she was. Bea Arthurs life song will always be heard and never forgotten.

Bea was one of a kind. She didn't have to say a single word and she could have you laughing until you had tears in your eyes, with just a look. One of my all time favorite tv shows is "Golden Girls", lightning in a bottle. I do recall some of "Maude" and what I do, I loved also. She was/is a unique entertainer and I miss her so. And Estelle Getty. As Mother and Daughter on Golden Girls they were truly the best there ever was, in my opinion.

Beautiful photographs! She was handsome as a mature lady and striking as a young one. Thanks for including the shot from "Mame," a film dismissed as one of Lucille Ball's late-career missteps, but from which the Bea-Lucy duet of "Bosom Buddies" is pure gold.
