Watching The Beach Boys perform their California scene style music, you can see that it’s timeless. Girls, hot rods, and surfing are forever among the young minded. It’s like that film Big Wednesday. No body wants to give up surfing and girls, but you have to get a job, but many try real hard not to grow up. This type of music helps with that feeling.

Yes, Mike Love stupidly quit the reunited band so he could keep playing county fairs and 1000 seat amphitheatres with Bruce Johnston.

I take it you haven't been to one of their concerts lately. The Rose in Huber Heights Ohio, sold out 3 years in a row-5,000 people.

joe fuller Mike and Bruce just played a 1000 dear theatre here in Santa Barbara, CA. You actually prefer Mike and Bruce over the real band?

I will be going to my 38th BB concert in July. I have seen many different groups. I saw the 50th twice, and it was great. Many of the band that did the 50th tour are with Mike and Bruce. I know the musical director and lead guitar Scott Totten, the are all fine musicians. If you talk about originals Brian hasn't sang the high notes for years, but still has a decent voice. There sound is that of the BB in the 60's. I know they do smaller venues, but the fact that they are still out there is amazing. Bottom line it's the music. I leave every concert with a smile on my face. Checkout the Fendertones You Tube.

"409" was brand new and playing on the radio when my brother and I pulled up at the little teen club his band was playing at that night, at Woodstock Park, Jacksonville, Florida ... I can still hear it on the radio in my head, and THAT was a long time ago! THIS, by the way is both an excellent performance AND an incredibly great recording accomplishment.

Great Show! Mike Love sounds great & he has real good stage presence like always. Al Jardine looks great & does real well like always on vocals & rhythm guitar. Brian is a genius. The other guys in the band are great!

Just read Mike Love's "Good Vibrations" bio and it is an excellent read! Suggest it for all Beach Boys fans. Like going back in time - the time of my youth being raised less than 5 miles from these dudes and cruising Hawthorne Blvd listening to "Shut Down" and "409". Mike Love, thanks for the great music and the great read of your fine book.

Damn, I can't hardly believe these Japanese young people are so turned on by vintage American pop music from the early '60's! I guess that even across cultures, language, age, etc. good rock music and harmonies transcend all of that. I'm impressed. I grew up on these guys and I turned 70 last September, 2022.
