The repetitive "sometimes I feel very sad," the stunning "cuando seré?" backing vocals, and the other 2 lines that are added onto each repetition... it's a masterpiece. And the lyrics are so so good. (Honourable Mentions: The rest of Pet Sounds, I Get Around, 409, Please Let Me Wonder, With Me Tonight, Surf’s Up, Let’s Put Our Hearts Together) 10. Feel Flows (Really beautiful song. The highlight of the song is that guitar solo while there’s a flute escalating in the background.) 9. Fall Breaks and Back to Winter (Woody Woodpecker Symphony) (A Highlight on ‘Smiley Smile’, with really interesting vocal work. Getting ‘The Residents’-vibes from this.) 8. Wouldn’t It Be Nice (Probably the only Beach Boys song I knew before I listened to Pet Sounds for the first time. Just an amazing tune.) 7. Sloop John B (Would have been much higher if those high-pitched vocals weren’t there. They disrupt the flow a bit. Otherwise, one of the best songs I know.) 6. Good Vibrations (A pocket symphony. All of your top tens had some great songs and I can completely see why God Only Knows has all three of your top spots. There's obviously going to be hundreds of songs that didnt make the top 10 but I have to point out that an often overlooked track is Break Away, and mainly because it didnt appear on any albums. It dropped between 20/20 and Sunflower. I recently bought the 45" to add to my collection and its easily in my top 3 favourite BB songs.

Jet propelled, Mike Love's least annoying lead vocal on an upbeat song ever. 9. "She Knows Me Too Well" - absolutely gorgeous. Love Brian's sweet lead vocal. 8. "The Warmth of the Sun" - so beautiful, so soothing and consoling. 7. "Surfin' USA" - Brian hadn't taken over complete production control, but this is soooo propulsive and catchy. An endorphin rush of the highest order. 6. "Wouldn't It Be Nice" - This might be Brian's best arrangement ever. So many beautiful instrumental sounds, and those vocals. 5. "Surf's Up" - Has it ever really been finished? I can't help thinking Brian would have done more with the backing track on the third section given more time. The backing track of the first section rivals "Wouldn't It Be Nice" for amazing arrangement touches. A true pearl. 4. "Please Let Me Wonder" - For me, the centerpiece of the masterpiece that is "Today!" So emotionally beautiful, so beautifully written, arranged, and sung. The sound of those vocals on the "La" at the end of the choruses... I'm entering an endorphin coma just thinking of it. 3. "Good Vibrations" - An amazing psychedelic world. Combines the drive of their fun-in-the-sun era with the brilliance of the Pet Sounds era. That reverb-laden choral blast after the quiet interlude - swoon. 2. "Don't Worry Baby" - From the massive opening drums on, incandescently gorgeous and a death-punch to the solar plexus of pleasure and emotion. Love love love it. 1. "God Only Knows" - I can't improve on your wonderful comments.

God Only Knows was used for the intro for Big Love, an HBO original series from the 2000's. I enjoy that show so much that I don't mind, and think it actually makes sense, to have the greatest song ever start it out.

Watched your Beach Boys albums round up again and having listened to Wild Honey, Sunflower and Holland again, i can't fit anything on to my top 10 though I really like Only You and Add Some Music To Your Day. I also couldn't include a lot of their 60s output which was also first-class. Like The Beatles, they have a whole host of great songs. I have a soft spot for Little Saint Nick which is one of my favourite Christmas songs but I couldn't include it here either.
