Hi Martin , its a hard time of year to find much out on the beaches . The cold fronts passing through kicks up the surf , so that helps . Hi Mark , I am afraid it will be like this till spring time . Once the trade winds started in back in June , Daytona has had sand washing back in that was lost during the hurricanes last fall. About 6 or 8 foot of sand washed away. It took all summer. By the time most of the sand had returned the water was too cold for people to swim. I think there are some good targets out there that sank and were buried shortly after being lost. The big surf we get over the winter months as cold fronts blow through could turn some things up . That's what keeps me going. I expect things to get back to more normal as soon as the water starts to warm back up and beach goers return . Happy Holidays and thanks for watching .

Hi Martin , Merry Christmas ! I will be doing my best to keep going . My little blue car is down at the moment. It needs a new set of piston rings . It seems to have broken one in cylinder 1 . Its at my mechanics shop waiting its turn to go under the wrench ! lol Its an expensive repair but much cheaper than replacing the car. Til then I will need to barrow the wife's car when I can . Hey Brian! Cute little pendant you found there! Any jewelry is great, right? Overall for what's out there, probably as best it gets? Happy Holidays to you and all! We're doing pretty good now with the Deus II. Could be we just found a good area! Met another Deus II user - Wayne, yesterday. He said to tell you "X marks the spot!" He was showing me his tips. My thoughts so far! Beach P Prg 13 seems to work the best for me at the moment. Diving program is pretty solid too in the water. For depth, the horseshoe and sound gives you that info - for the most part. Not as simple as the Minelabs detectors, but the depth gauge on those always seem to be a basic guess too! Still learning, but we like the DEUS II so far.

Hi Scott , Wayne is a nice guy . He is a local beach hunter . I see him out on the beach from time to time . We were chatting on the beach one day and before he walked away he made an X on the sand and said X marks the spot. I swung over the spot and there was a target. Generally I record every target I dig unless my battery is dead . On this target I didn't turn on the camera figuring Wayne was fooling around . It was a 14k gold pendent with 8 diamonds . You can see it in my video IDD 274. Thanks for watching .

Hi Brian. I know you want to test this machine out and all to see how it works and all but I really think you Manticore is way better. When you use it you have an easier time seeing the screen and so do we . I also think knowing the depth of the target helps out . Your findings are great with this one but I just think you seem happier with your manicure . But hey you know better than me. You have to hit the 2 right buttons at the same time it will give you the large numbers. And you do have depth the left and right side has Ferris and non Ferris indicator with depth bars. Watch calabash if you want to learn how to program it.

Hi Chipper , I was watching some of his videos last night . I liked the one where he took a number of machines to the beach and did depth tests. I am just more comfortable with the Manticore , and the larger display screen is better for recording videos. Thanks for watching .

Here is what I learned so far. My opinion equinox is a better beach machine. The tones it makes reminds me of the radio shack detector I had as a kid and one of the biggest factors was the tone sound. If I’m gonna listen to it all day it has to sound good to my ear. I think the xp deus ws6 may be a better comparison to the manticore but the rear mount coil would be an issue for me in the water. Always good to think about your options and preferences when watching detectors if you’re in the market. Anyway merry Christmas and happy new year!

Cool video. I noticed something lol almost every target you dug was deeeep. Not many been on the beach? And you are getting targets others are missing? No deeper in the water there where you was going the display box would be in my hand somehow so you can see what is going on. plus It is so light you will be swinging it like a fan lol hahaha. Keep using it Then pick up the manticor,,,, Oh Pinpoint yea the feature has a lil quirk you have to hit the go back button to get out of pinpoint. I don't use it I back my coil towards me till the signal stops beeping target will be at the toe or top of the coil. Saves time better locator works on all machines I have used. Works very well on the legend. Any way I don't want to be Mr. know it all so I'll stop. Thanks for the cool video brother. P.S. put the display box in your hand lol hahahahaha!!!!

Hi zzzzzzzzzzaper , I need my other hand for the beach scoop . We have been having some big surf with the cold fronts pushing through . It has been turning the beach over out there . Not many beach goers this time of year . I have seen a few people out there with metal detectors. Its just going to be rough going till the water warms back up and we start getting some fresh drops . One thing I did notice about the Deus. It is very sensitive if my scoop is anywhere near it when on land . The thing I noticed when editing , I think it was in the first Deus video when I went in the water , the Deus didn't react to my beach scoop until it was very close to the coil . Not sure why that is . Thanks for watching .

@@idigdaytona4478 They say everything is in the coil That's why I can use all the coils you use on my ORX vice a versa. They do have 2 high frequency coils for them I am using the 6x9 H.F. on mine it is a killer on coins and small stuff it finds itty bitty wire etc. I got all the targets out of a spot in my yard with the legend, Next I am going over it with the ORX. Just to see what's up. I have already done it with the ORX first the legend found 1 target lol . We will see what happens with that.... As for falsing on the scoop I get that on my truck wheels with both detectors yes I noticed it. I have seen it on other peoples videos also.

Well Brian I don't think the Deus is better than any other detector. I think they all would have found the same targets, the Legend, the Equinox, and Manicore. Jimmy crossbones says the Manicore is the best one out the and the Gig master says the Legend. One of these days I hope I can afford a Manicore.😊

Hi JJ , I think the Manticore is the best overall machine out there at this point in time . I enjoy mine . Check out CALABASH DIGGER ADVENTURES on You Tube . His video titled : BEACH DEPTH TEST MINELAB MANTICORE, CTX, XP DEUS II, NOKTA LEGEND, DOUBLE SCORE, XTERRA PRO, SCORE . Its a good test on the beach . Hi Barb , Merry Christmas to you too. I much prefer the Minelab Manticore. I bring everything home and sort out the copper , brass and lead . The rest of it goes in a feed sack. I have been saving it all so far . One day I will scrap it. Thanks for watching .

Hi Tom , I guess a coin could get stuck to something rusting away out there . I try to not dig iron on Daytona . Its never anything good . On the treasure coast I would dig everything. Wow no depth gauge. That alone will keep me using my equinox 900. Good to know because my next purchase will be the manticore . Plus it seems like all the Deus two signals sound the same. I go more by what I hear than VDI numbers . Go back to your Manticore don’t go to the dark side!

Hi floridaentrepreneur , I don't see one. I didn't think it had a depth indicator , but someone in the comments said it did. I have not spent a lot of time with it . Its very different than what I have been using. I prefer my Manticore.

Have you thought about soaking that coin in some coca-cola???? If Coca-Cola can dissolve a nail in a few days it should dissolve whatever is on that coin... also I'm beginning to think there's more cons on using that new metal detector than pro's.... Have a Merry Christmas

Hi John , I don't have any as I don't drink the stuff. I use vinegar . It does a good job if you soak them for an hour or so. I find the Deus a hard machine to navigate . I prefer the Manticore. I hope you have a Merry Christmas too . Thanks for watching .

Brian!!! I'm not a troll.. I'm a subber who really enjoys your posts...I just have to ask you to please wear some light foot protection.. To my grief and, I have lots of company.... That sand is loaded with many sharp things like, fishhooks, broken glass,used syringes and other assorted sharps that'll ruin your day...😢 Be Blessed and stay safe my friend...🙏

Hi Philip , I have tried a few different things. The problem I have is the sand gets in and takes the skin off my feet. I do a lot of walking out there. I have been bleeding after hunting the shoes and sandals . I do use dive boots after storms when there is a lot of debris on the beaches . If I wear them in the water they fill up with water and its like walking around with leg weights . I figure I'm walking behind a metal detector and that helps on some of the dangers. I also keep my eyes peeled for other hazards . I do my best to be safe out there . There is a hunt on the way where it was very cold and I have on tennis shoes . There was no dry sand as the surf had been all the way to the top of the beach . Thanks for watching .

Maybe at the beginning of your vids you have disclaimer that you fill in all your holes this way we don't have to watch you filling in the holes and saying "I'll fill in this hole" after each dig.
