Beacon Rock State Park Campground Review
When adventuring at Beacon Rock State Park and taking on one of the most difficult and scenic hikes in the area, I decided to check out the accommodation options at the park and found one of the camping options. The area is beautiful so I just couldn't help but stop and take a moment to indulge myself in the location. Check out this video to find out what unique features are within walking distance of some of the greatest hikes in Southern Washington.

Question of the Day: Do you prefer a larger or smaller pack for travel?

I like a small day pack usually. I don 't do a lot of hikes which take more than a few hours so I have no need for a backpacking pack

Nice campground We also subscribed. Impressive work you do at the campgrounds and also surrounding areas to tell the full story of what we can expect to find when visiting.

It is really beautiful and green there. And that little bag looks like the perfect size for a commuter bag.

I have been enjoying all of your videos. This one you seem really tired, but if it was done after the last one that makes sense. I like seeing the real instead of just the glossy good stuff that is more relatable. You have a great channel Bunny.

yep that hike was something else... paired with the fact that this was many many days into the adventure I was in need of the life of the shower and after felt much more perked up...

How fantastic is that bag, a great size especially in your small space.

Yes it is wonderful for keeping it light and easy on the road, I also have a small one now I use just for camera equipment that is similar in size.

That looks like a nice campground close enough to many things. Also in regard to the bag I have used Gregory for their larger bags and they do have a substantial quality. I hadn't seen this small of a pack however and agree this would be a good size for a person who is needing something for uses beyond outdoor. I will have to go check it out for when I am going to a from the office. Quality speaks for itself and if they have something that works for my every day life then I am interested.

I agree about the quality.. I have several bags and I have enjoyed this ones durability as well as the tote I picked up... both are great additions to my travel well beyond just hiking packs

Cool looking campsite. Looks like they are like Colorado and charge extra for those showers. Here the parks are very expensive just because of the amenities.

I had watched a lot of your more recent videos but decided to go back a little bit in time and see some of these. I noticed they were all in a series of days. This seems like a really long trip. How do you manage to travel for this many days? I would love to get more than a week of vacation at a time. Love all of these travels, it is amazing to see what is out there.

I usually work to get things right on my end and take off with a goal in mind of where I want to travel as a whole then from there I start to just find places along the way that look interesting.. I usually travel within my budget as long as I possibly can go... many of the places I go aren't horribly expensive... although I do splurge from time to time

State parks in that area are nice for an overnight to get a good shower and have a few additional amenities, but they run much higher than they should.

agree.. the price point is not one I would like to take on daily staying in the region.. but a nice stop is good here and there

Would really be interested to know your current gear list for your travels. Will you please do an updated one? I have camped a bit here and there with the family but not this past year because of Covid so we are probably in need of a few upgrades.

Steep prices, but I agree that part of Washington unless you are staying in the National Forest sites are upward of $30 to $50. If you go back up there I have a few forest spots you might want to check out. HMU

I have been using the app upon your suggestion and find it to be very helpful in addition to Campendium. Do you use iOverlander for boon docking? I met several people at RTR who suggested it but also cautioned in more frequently traveled areas it can be a bit less helpful.
@BunnyPlaysHere
@BunnyPlaysHere 3 жыл бұрын
I use both of those as well for finding different kinds of information from the reviews... the Dyrt is my preferred for sure but for rvs I have noticed the feedback on compendium is rv specific most of the time and ioverlander does have free covered well!!!

I don't camp but have considered trying it with friends. A place like this wouldn't be terrible with showers and restrooms. What would you suggest for a first time camper?
@BunnyPlaysHere
@BunnyPlaysHere 3 жыл бұрын
several things.... if you are a first timer don't go and buy everything... instead visit a location where you can rent supplies perhaps to make sure you don't invest in it not knowing if you will ever want to do it again.. or go with friends.. that is the best!!! find something with lots of things you enjoy to do so it makes it more enjoyable.. some campgrounds are near places with great views, hikes or lake activities.. depending on what you would be most interested in plan with activities in mind, you want to be able to really get a full feel for it.... also look at amenities... if you never have camped before but think you would be interested in having hot showers or running water, there are plenty of options.. state parks usually have improved areas and primitive areas for example... lastly HAVE FUN!!!

How does the solar shower you spoke about work when traveling in a car? I have seen several when traveling in larger vehicles such as RVs or Vans where people simply have a hook to hang them off the door and pull a curtain for privacy. Or with privacy tents. Do you have one of those??
@BunnyPlaysHere
@BunnyPlaysHere 4 жыл бұрын
the solar shower works well if you have strong trees nearby.. I need to do a video of how I make it work... now I will say that a privacy shower tent is on my list because currently I shower in a bathing suit if I need to use the solar shower

@@BunnyPlaysHere good to know. I would be very interested in seeing a review if you do get a shower enclosure because there are so many I don't have the slightest clue as to where to start.

So this was actually a product endorsement? On and on about the bag… where were the rv sites?
@BunnyPlaysHere
@BunnyPlaysHere 3 жыл бұрын
This was one of my earlier reviews, at the time I was sharing a product and a location together I have since decided to divide the two, my audience really enjoyed this but newcomers like yourself weren't quite sure what to think so I found it to be more welcoming as a whole to split them.
