Your work is beautiful. What about putting a small mirror on your work table so you can see where you're cutting as you cut it? Because if you cut the thread and then turn, it's kinda cut already, innit. I want to try this though. Now I know how! Great videos. Eve

thank you...i really long time to find the way to know, how to cut my project properly...thank very much for your video...If you can help me more...please to answer my question....do you know what kind of the white glue or varnish maybe...to protect the stumpwork...that kind just like white glue put on the surface of your lunevile project to protect the beads/thread. I'm not sure what it is...The project like hautee couture dress. Thank You.

Thank you for the great tutorial! ❤ Just starting to dabble into this bead embroidery technique. Can you use something else other than suede for the backing? Suede is expensive for a girl on a fixed budget.

Yes, you can really use almost anything that you can stitch into. You want something without a lot of stretch though and something thick enough to hold your beads (not warp, snag, or waver with the weight). You can definitely experiment with different materials until you find something you like.

Wouldn't it be easier to just turn the piece over so you can see where you're cutting.

If you prefer to do it this way, you certainly can. In either case, you want to check your progress on both sides as you cut, to make sure you are as close to the beads as possible with cutting your threads. Thanks for watching!

Has anyone used e6000? I just don't want the glue to soak into the suede and show up on the back. It's heavy duty glue. Thanks.

What size seed beads did you use? I am going to do bead embroidery like that but with just 3 rounds of 11/0 seed beads. Will that work or do I need different size seed beads?
@beadaholique

We used 11/0 and 15/0 Toho round seed beads. You can certainly use 11/0 seed beads for all 3 rows. Thanks for watching!

Hi. Aside from ultra suede/vinyl. Would you happen to have any other alternatives for backing?
@beadaholique
@beadaholique 3 жыл бұрын
The only option we carry right now is the ultra suede but this is a versatile technique, most fabrics can be used as backing, the Lacy's Stiff Stuff foundation does plenty of work to keep the back of the piece rigid. The Lacy's foundation itself can also be dyed to a different color.

The white material is Lacy's Stiff Stuff. It's a stiffened fabric you can sew through, dye to any color and even wash. You can find it here: beadaholique.com/products/lacys-stiff-stuff-beading-foundation-for-cabochons-4-25-x-5-5-inches
