Good lord the pollen was assaulting me while recording this one! I can only hope it makes some sort of sense to someone, somewhere. Let me know how you usually attach your beads because I expect it's probably completely different to everything I just showed and I'm nothing if not eager to learn! 😅

I just used this video to put my first beads on a project! It was so much easier than I thought it would be, and it looks awesome! Thank you very much!! 😊

I have been so intimidated by beaded cross stitch patterns because they look so elegant, naturally I assumed it would be difficult. Thank you so much for this tutorial!! ❤

I’ve done the same as in your tutorial for beading, but with one difference - when using a tent stitch to attach beads (in your first example) I’ve always done the first stitch to hold the bead on, and then repeated the same stitch. That is, going back through bottom left to top right. Much more secure! Useful if you don’t want a cross stitch there. I like the second example you showed though 👌🏻

Haha, as if I didn't even think of that! And as if the tutorials I originally learned from didn't either! Morti you're a beading genius! :D

Allergies have been worse this year. Thanks for the tutorial. I have projects that need beads but haven't gotten to that point on them yet. I'll probably watch this again before I actually try it.

Yeah we've both been struggling allergy-wise, it's not the greatest when you need to record your voice (or you know, breathe properly in general). I used to be worried about beading but honestly it's so easy, and looks so fancy, definitely worth it!

You make the beading sound so simple! I did actually add beads to one project and instead of French knots I used more beads haha 🤣 loving the patterns, thank you for making and sharing them 🥰

Yes I've seen a lot of people replace french knots with beads instead! Much easier, and sparklier too :D You're very welcome, happy stitching!

I didn't know adding beads to cross-stitch was a thing! 🤭 Your tutorial was perfect, I understood everything! 😊 Alex also has hayfever, it's crazy how strong it is this year! Hope you get better soon! 🥰

Ugh, sympathies to Alex, it really is a nightmare this year. Adding beads to EVERYTHING should be a thing imo. Beads are FUN!

I’ve done loads of projects with beads, and I wish I’d had your tutorial before attempting the first one. The instructions with the charts are usually very clear, but having a visual reference would have been so helpful.

Oops! Oh well, better late than never, right? ;) I think it's one of those things that seems like it's going to be intimidating but really, as long as your beads stay on you did it fine.

I did one of the Mill Hill bead kits and it was really fun! Since then I've added beads to a few projects. Which none of them are finished loll. Gonna try your pattern when I get the chance!

I've never done one myself but from the way everyone I know is obsessed with beaded Mill Hill kits, I'm gonna say those are worth looking at.

Nice tutorial Michelle. Love the clear graphics. Can you add a link to the needles you used? They look better than the ones I've been able to find. Keep it up!

These are the ones I got, just a random set from Amazon. Not sure if you're in the UK or not but you should be able to get the same sort of thing on whatever your local site is smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071NG5TX6 (Let's see if KZfaq deletes my own comment on my own video for including a link. Science! 🧐)

Hi Michelle, I love your videos 😊You explain things so well and there’s a great variety of things to watch. One question about beaded cross stitch…..how do you start and end invisible thread? Is it so slippery that it will just come out if you run it under stitches? I’m usually a loop starter and my only experience of invisible thread was many years ago with what I think must have been fishing line…..nightmare, so I’ve never tried again but it appeals for a multicolour bead project.
@TheGiddyStitcher
@TheGiddyStitcher Жыл бұрын
Ooh, you know as a chronic loop starter myself that's a really good question, I've not tried just running it underneath stitches. This might call for a science experiment! It definitely is very slippery though so I'm not sure I would trust it without thorough experimentation first. The cheapy brand I showed in this video is the only kind I've used but I will say it's easy to tie small tidy knots into it so that's an option too. Sorry I can't give a more certain answer, there!
I tried every free cross stitch pattern converter so you don't have to!
