Flying steel in, both operators have a lot of experience they look smooth, they know their cranes, it always a joy to watch good operators, no matter the equipment. Structural steel makes it look official, looking great, thanks for the update, this was enjoyable to watch having had experience at setting steel myself.

I can’t even imagine how much planning goes into this. You make it look so easy. Props to you.

So glad to see you are building your foundation cap before backfilling. We had always done that, but got curious if we really needed to or not. Backfilling would get you safe easy access all around, so, maybe? What we did was to plot about 60 data points on the plans around the foundation. Then we proceeded to start backfilling, skid steer, 1' lifts, plate tamp wide areas, jumping jack skinny areas. We filled to a height of 3' out of our 8' total and rechecked our readings. We discovered that we pushed to TOW in about 3/4" in several locations, and 1/2" in most of the rest. We managed to remove some material, push on the walls and get pretty well back to plumb, and luckily not crack anything! From that day forward we always, always, always set our foundation cap 1st, before any backfilling took place. I'd rather inconvenience my carpenters for a few days and put up with their pissin' and moanin' than risk a cracked foundation. Lesson learned. Not sure if this was intentional or happenstance on your part, but either way, you're doing it right. I can already tell the 2nd floor is going to be great, and your roof is going to be EPIC! Thanks for sharing.

Happy Independence Day Bealy good family watching part 2 of pour and steel erection. Saw and heard you say TURNER CRANE. My dad worked for Mr. Turner back in the late 40's and early 50's. He drove and operated a crane for them. It was known as TURNER TRANSFER and ERECTION back then. All is really looking good.

Great job yet again Geoff. You have accomplished so much in a short time. It's remarkable given you're a dad, husband, pond designer, real estate developer and construction contractor. That is a lot of responsibilities and work.
