It's nice to see the Japanese still show care and masterful skill in everything they do

The toilets have been in use in Australia for years, a country which is mostly desert needs to conserve as much water as possible and so, uses the water from hand washing to help fill the toilet bowl when you flush.

I love Japan. From their chicken and noodles with sauce to their crochet patterns that are in graphs with symbols instead of long long pages of lines for say "Amigurumi" which was created in Japan and means "little toys." They create Anime, Pokemon, little dogs with different breeds, characters from tv shows, etc. As a bird lover, I found many patterns for crocheting little birds (2 inches) to hang on my 2-foot All seasons "fake" lighted birch tree. I've even found a pattern to make a tree for birds using crochet and crocheting it around PVC piping (for plumbing.) It will stand at 4 ft tall with three branches and there are patterns for three seasons of leaves, flowers, and/or apples. We can even put a hole little in the middle of the trunk for me to crochet various birds (to change with the seasons) like an owl or woodpecker to nest and her nestlings to stick their heads out of the hole. It is gorgeous. So "origami" is making things using paper, like birds, etc. But Amigurumi is crocheting kids toys or a collection of what ppl love - "small toys" (translation,.) Japan started both of these wildly popular crafts, esp here in the USA. It is very popular and taken seriously among crafters here. Japan's inventions have become an obsession in the U.S. and Japan is renowned for these inventions and I'm sure for many others as well. They are gentle people and very very innovative and creative. They are wonderful to write great crochet patterns for us here in the US, but the patterns using the overall graph and symbols of stitches and colors of yarn are so intelligent. I tell new crocheters if they just google the Japanese graph terms, they will find the answers. Five years ago I bought a book from Japan via Amazon with 50 crochet bird patterns with at least 30 bird species in it plus trees, plants, etc. It included mates and fledglings, nests, etc. I just fell in love. My 33 yr old daughter loves Japan. If I wasn't so disabled and poor, I would love to visit Japan and take my 33 yr old daughter who has loved Japan since her teens. She has loved Anime books, and their styles of clothes and has even tried learning the language. Thank you, Japan for all you have blessed my family with. God bless you. Blue & green have (or had) the same name in many languages throughout the world. When I was young las, or glas (I'm not going to explain why) were used for both in Welsh. Now las is blue and green is gwyrdd (say it smoothly as goo-i-r-th - i as in hit, dd is a hard th, roll the r). I believe that las is sometimes still used for green. Classical Greek didn't have a word for blue, either (the "wine dark sea" for those who read Homer.) And many people who are native to rainforests can distinguish many more shades of green than the rest of us, but their abilities to distinguish between green and blue, or more than a few very different shades of blue (depending on who, where, etc) are nonexistent. Language and colour are incredibly complicated!

I worked in a Japanese Factory in Missouri (Toyada Gosai - Toyota Plastics). They have an automated trolley train that pulls carts so finished products are placed on a cart from the production machine. Each machine puts finished product and also recieves raw materials the same way (eliminating the need to run for supplies) These trains also play classical music as they go around

Oh this was brilliant! I've seen two astounding food related items in Japan, Bento boxes. One you shook and it Heated the food, another was like a pull cord! Within three, four minutes the food was warmed to eat! I've really got into Japanese Travel Vlogs, and attempting Japanese not too badly on Duolingo just for the fun of it. Some of the words are fabulous especially the ao of blue sounding like you've injured yourself 😂 I love seeing the Japanese capsule hotels, such tiny rooms but the amenities are out of this world and free! They're so clean too, everywhere it's outstanding. It's an amazing beautiful country ❤️ Fantastic video, made me quite happy thank you 😊

Japan is basicly decades ahead of everyone. Their city designing, products are usually amazing. Don’t forget their houses and skyscrapers can survive a earthquake

Here in Australia, milk cartons also have a ridge, but the ridge is to indicate which side to open the carton. There is no ridge if the carton has a screw lid.

One amazing thing about Japan is that no matter how devastating an earthquake is, they always have it fixed pretty quickly.

My favorite inventions are the transparent bathrooms, the refrigerator, the vending machines and the robot restaurant.

One of my uncles in Japan designed vending machines in the 90’s. They were pretty wild back then, but he would be amazed at how far they have advanced since then.

The fridge and toilet is beyond clever. North American RV makers should incorporate both in their campers.

One mistake is that in the beginning, the soda cans in the urinal video game was actually coffee. The cans had coffee beans on it and said コーヒー (Kōhī), which means "coffee" in Japanese.

That Japan street crossing, when one walks diagonally over a street, was once an inside joke with me and some friends. ...Since there are no such crossings here, we sometimes walked diagonally anyways, and called it an "anarchy crossing" -:) Aah, memories... -:)

I had lived in Japan for 3 years and when I was there I was amazed by the people , culture and other it was so clean and the people were very kind and friendly they are always there to help you no matter what even though they can't speak english they will find a way to help you and make you feel happy

As for the green and blue, in my culture(Zulu), it is regarded as the same colour. When we refer to blue we use the word sky and green we use the word grass, but we call blue and green (umbala ohlaza)

Japan's sushi restaurants are stellar! While I lived there I was especially fond of a small chain of restaurants known as kurazushi, which had sushi at a slightly more affordable price. There was also a niche restaurant in Kichinoji city that gave you a set of five giant gyoza! Absolutely delicious!

Wow, I bet Japan has a lot of traffic problems since red/blue color blindness is pretty much the most common. Having ridden in a vehicle with someone who had the most extreme version and had them see red arrows as green I can tell you it's a terrifying experience. Which is why we need to make the colors have shapes, too, because color blindness is no fun on the road.

I visited Japan twice, as a chaperone for teenagers on homestays. I was blown away by so many things. Bathrooms, of course… all the way from a porcelain hole in the floor to technology suitable for Darth Vader’s powder room. The vending machines were amazing. Everything from rice to toys. One of my favorite vending machine treats is melon soda. You can keep the Calpico🤢 omoshiroi desu!

I actually have that chindogu book mentioned at 6:30. Some of the inventions are truly bizarre but not totally useless. Some even make a strange kind of sense. Oddly enough, I have seen at least one put into production. An umbrella that has a clear plastic curtain to prevent being splashed by passing vehicles.

20 m² is a palace. Not until recently (maybe a year ago or so), I've had a 4 m² room with my bed, desk, bookcase, AND wardrobe in it. Just add a bathroom and a basic kitchen, and you have a fully functional house in under 20 m² all with the privacy of having your own place. Edit: Let's not mention the messed up law-system there. I forgot why exactly (probably has something to do with honour), but if you're deemed innocent there's a high chance you'll still be punished as if guilty.
