That underground pool would be a great sensory deprivation tank! Turn the lights blue and almost off, play some Buddhist temple music. The echo and that feeling of floating in space, especially if it was the size of that pool. Man, that's heavenly.

For the London pool, I don't understand why they're needlessly making it more complicated and adding more points of failure. Why waste money on a complex hydraulic staircase lift and a specialized water pump when you could just have the staircase be permanent, and even have a small island around it to minimize the risk of any water damage lower in the building. You would still have the gorgeous view from the edge, but for cheaper and with much less risk of swimmers being stranded in the roof pool during a power failure or due to a lift/pump malfunction.

For instance if I won the lottery I would build my dream home but would install an underground safe house/bomb shelter. Based on what happened to the one pool that gave way, I think if they decide to put up another pool on the roof of a building they should maybe place some sort of safety net below so if the thing does give way, the water can pass through but the people can be stopped by the net. Granted there may be pool material falling as well, but the alternative would be worse. If the net was made the right way, most of the material could pass through the net leaving the people at least safe from plummeting hundreds of feet to their death. Granted, if you have to put a net there, why build the pool in the first place. But it seems that even if the safety was guaranteed and no net was necessary, I would feel better with some backup just in case. It wouldn't hurt.
@c182SkylaneRG
@c182SkylaneRG 2 жыл бұрын
Except that one pool that gave way had the bottom remain a single solid piece all the way to the ground. Granted it was only a single story, but that's still within the distance you need to place a safety net to catch people before they're going too fast to stop safely.

This entire video has given me major anxiety. I have chills, my heart is racing..... And now all I can see is my kids in one of these infinity pool, going over the edge.... Well, it's only two of my kids I see. My 11 yr old son who's a jokester and trouble maker. He would think it's funny to hit the glass, throw his sister in the air, ect... And then same daughter mentioned above, 10yrs old, is my daredevil. She'd be laughing the entire time her brother is tossing her up. Heights is my "Issue". But not for me. I'm fine being up high and looking down. I'm terrified of heights for my kids. I was born in Niagara Falls and ever since I started having kids I have nightmares of them falling over the edge of the observation tower. I've had this nightmare with ALL of them! Now I'll be dreaming of them falling over pool cliffs and pool bottoms breaking out. It's going to be a long day.

When I used to scuba dive I had a diving holiday in the Scilly Isles off South West UK visitting shipwrecks every day ranging from a few feet below the sea to one 150 feet down. Thais the limit for scuba diving using compressed air, beyond that you need air gas mixtures. Your lungs still take the maximum volume of air because you regulator adjusts to the pressure around you, so at 100 feet you are breathing air at about 65psi. Because the water is exerting the same pressure it feels like you're breathing air at normal pressure and also why you don't explode.

I'm totally afraid of heights but scuba diving over the edge of a reef where there is a huge drop-off, about 20 stories high, I was fine. It felt like flying! I think these glass bottomed pools could give a similar feeling. I really want to try the London one to see if it feels like flying between the 2 buildings!

I beg you to learn to swim..! It’s so important; I just can’t seem to be able to get my son to catch on despite myself & my husband both being strong swimmers. I’ve tried soooo hard, I even told him that our Labrador wouldn’t always be there to help him out if he was to fall into a body of water… and being honest, that specific dog has now unfortunately passed away.. ☹️ We have two rivers that converge in our city in the UK and various canals & quarries where numerous people have sadly lost their lives… despite warning signs being EVERYWHERE 😪 please please please get lessons as soon as possible, it’s soooo worth it! 👍👏

@@dizzy_dino9052 AWES!!! When My daughter was little, she had a hard time swimming, too. I taught her how to bounce off the bottom with her feet if it was too deep. Before I knew it, she was in the deep end of the pool, bouncing off the bottom to come up for air, all by herself. She even learned on her own that if she bounced and her head broke the surface and she moved her arms back and forth, she would stay up. Her next natural move was to kick her feet: swimming! :) When I was learning to ride a bike, my poor bike got tossed into the bushes many times. Then one day, I was just going fast enough to 'feel' my balance as it related to my handlebars. I want to see a youtube video of Dizy Dino swimming and riding a bike! :)

Well please keep trying poppet; my son is just too addicted to his Xbox Series X now so I don’t think we have much hope! Keep pursuing at least learning to swim, it’s just so important my love! Good luck, I know water is terrifying but goggles & a nose clip help lots… just a little hint! 👍👏🤞🏻hint: the laws of physics state that as long as you have a good lung full of air in your body, you will float - air is lighter than water… please don’t forget to breathe! 😘

As someone from Kauai, Kipu Falls is no where near the ocean. The locations showcased about the ocean being 15+ feet, is a place called Queens Bath, which is located at the north shore. Don’t get me wrong, Kipu Falls is dangerous because during the winter times of the year, the rainfall causes both flash floods and increased water flow which cause a dangerous undertow beneath the waterfall, which has drowned folks. It is true that the way to Kipu Falls is closed. But there are other places to swim.

That pool on the roof of the Shanghai hotel, is really cool. The one thing that I would be concerned about, is the fact that it does not have any safety rails. Imagine if you were at the edge of it, and a really big person jumps in behind you. The ripple / wave created by that, could send you right over the edge...Other that that, the next time that I am in Shanghai, I am definitely going to stay at that hotel...
