Yeah other than pacenotes there isn't much to say. Sportscasters in rally broadcasts might have subjects to talk about like the driver, their records, their skills, their competition, the cars, the track and its history but these are fake cars in a fake track. Sure you could draw comparisons to real life cars that these virtual cars are based on, but there's no competition or anything to talk about.

I would say that Beamng puts it all on the line compared to other rally games. Its exactly as you'd expect, you clip a tree it might rip your fender off and you continue driving, or you may totally rail a tree and unlike dirt games, that will totally destroy your car as it would in real life. I think of it as Dirt games are more arcade style whereas beamng is totally realistic and anything you do will give you the closest possible results as it would be in real life. The stakes are much higher and a completed rally stage gives me a better feeling than basically any other rally game does. And you're exactly right, you must think about those things such as a hard landing. That could snap an axle, an entire wheel or your alignment will be affected. Aswell, cars tend to respond to the terrain way more than other games, a mid sized pothole will upset the suspension of a car much more than other games and give you a more realistic feel.

@@RallyHigh Ha ha, awesome. I haven't played BeamNG since several major updates ago. I liked it back then, but I thought the physics then were a little too bouncy. I'll have to reinstall it and spend some time getting reacquainted w it! Here's hoping it will put some indirect pressure on the best "rally sims" we've seen in the past few years to up their game with more realistic options. (I know most of the racing/gaming audience wants a more fun experience, so I wouldn't expect realistic hardcore mode to be default or mandatory in a bigger rally title)

@@dakaodo some of the pros and cons between the games.. dr has vr, compleeeete game changer, (im sure there is mod for beam tho, if not now soon) the handling feels drastically different, dirt feels more solid, and beam feels a lil bit more flakey, but im not sure if thats my setup or physics? beam has a huge advantage in terms of expansion, with the right know how it would be possible to find a middle ground between games via modding. further expanding on beam, it could be THE next rally sim as you can make your own maps and if someone knows how to port maps, then jheeezuz RBR maps could be ported or maps from asseto. beam has the potential to become the best. i guess its just harder to achieve with a smaller dev team than the rest. would love to see more rally tracks in beam.

Play old game, Richard Burns Rally + modes and real setings. You could be suprised how hard it is

@@edjjit Someone already has ported the Assetto Corsa Nurburgring to BeamNG, that I've seen. I haven't done a deep search of all the mod maps, but I bet there are some other ported maps as well.

@myztazynizta You exactly described my experience in beamNG with rally. It feels a lot like trying to rally in assetto corsa but even worse. Did you ever find better wheel settings to help with this?
