We will create beams that follow vaulted roof. In this tutorial you will learn about Dynamo geometry and how to analyze it. In this scenario we need to get cross-sections for our beams. Using this method you can streamline your Revit workflow and be more efficient. We will create that script from scratch and even if you are a beginner, don't worry this one is definitely for you!
I hope you enjoy the session and learn something new! Feel free to comment any feedback/questions below, or follow my channel if you enjoyed this.

I loved ur content, I normally used adaptive components with dynamo to do the same, but this one I think is better, could we do the same with spacing instead of number of amount beams? For purlings and corrugated steel deck or roof it would be more suitable.

You are amazing, and thanks for sharing such excellent way, just one question, if I have inclined surface and I need to create beams on it with fixed spacing, what shall I add at the begging to calcualte the number of beams?

Is there a way to create beams sideway? In order to have orthogonal grid with beams

Very helpful. Why if we already create our beam that are not touching the roff and we just need to adapt their Cross section rotation depending on their projection to the surface.

Thank you. I am sorry, I don't quite get your question

@@mariyandeveloper8437 in this example you create you beams with the Surface.PointAtParameter; but if you have already your beams created in the model and you want to projeect them in the bottom face of the roof and set the "Cross-section Rotation" Parameter for them.

@@mhdingbi Thanks for reaching out! It sounds like you already have some beams in your Revit model and you want to know how to manipulate them using Dynamo. In order to help you with this, it would be helpful to understand a bit more about your specific scenario and what you're trying to achieve. For example, do you want the beam's length to change based on the surface it is connected to? Or are you trying to move the beam to a specific point on the surface? Once you have a clear understanding of the tasks you need to solve, it will be easier to identify which Dynamo nodes and functions you need to use. As a starting point, here are a few steps that might be involved in this process: Select a beam Select a point on a surface Move the beam to this point Change the cross-section rotation of the beam. I hope this helps give you some ideas on how to approach this problem. Let me know if you have any further questions or need more guidance!

Hi @@mariyandeveloper8437 thanks for responding. I already have beams positioned about an eliptic roof . My beams are not touching the roof. i want, based on their projection to the roof adapt the "Cross section Rotation" of all the beams using dynamo. I think i neeed to reach you in a platform that i can share images to show you what i really mean. I'm sorry but i'm a french guys that's why it's little bit hard to me to explain it exactly in english.
