Great vid again. It's more than ten years ago that I bought a Breitling. 11but the collections are really amazing. The Chronomat with green dial is a catch. Great movement, sporty elegant style and an amazing green sunburst dial.

"Feel good" watch is a great way of defining the Breitling 57. It brings the vibe of the era where recreation is beach, surf and poolside lounge. Anyone looking for a modern vintage minus the faux patina, THIS IS IT. It's the Bond watch that we never saw him wear..Love the video Papa Bear. If you'd really think about it, The Watch does share attributes with you Papa Bear.

Zdravo, kako si Big Bear. I think Marc Goldberg has one as well. The Ocean Classic mesh bracelet is smooth and Breitling's polishing are stunning. They have a great aeronautical history and their B01 movement is good value.

I would personally put it in a drawer , and forget about it , but what I would not forget is the amazing friend that gifted it to me. Its not worth the retail price , and out of respect I would only wear it if the said friend came to visit me. The watch is a no no , but the friend is priceless 👍 Tam.

Now you and your friend the dog trainer each have one of the limited edition pieces 😉 congrats Bear!

The best looking Breitling in my opinion, your friend has also good taste for warches, if he is also a collector you should make a video with him and his collection. Samo napred i sve najbolje!

It's very much like the Swatch Group brand, Rado's Captain Cook watch. That's tje great advantage of Breitling, main market is the US, they have the back catalogue and heritage. I looked at them before getting a Rolex. I particularly liked the Transocean Gold model with its classy timeless dial and it had the case proportions of watches like Bovet. Breitling have several strap or bracelet options: like the 'Ocean Racer' with oval holes cut in the strap to drain water. I also liked the Chronomat precious metal models. One with a golden dial. I liked the Chronomat line as they had nice dials and combined a GMT and diver functionality.

You lean into an interesting question - the kind of watch a friend buys a friend vs the kind of watch a business partner buys. BY the way, love that watch. On the other question you raise - I suspect resale is not really relevant to many buyers outside this tiny little hobby.

Wonderful watch bear, I hope on the SOH2 they bring the same lume and concave bezel, hopefully they keep the Tudor movement- Not crazy about Sellita- I actually love the ETA B17 on SOH1, also love the new bracelet with butterfly and closed gap on spring bar. Beautiful watch but it truly is overdue for in House Movement

A very eye-pleasing watch, but you're right, certainly not a true diver or "surfer diver". Looks great, retains a memory of its previous heritage, but not much beyond that. The Milanese bracelet is gorgeous. I recently watched a Chronomat restoration video and though I can admire the history of Breitling, their bezel styles don't appeal to me like other brands might. Is it the bezel riders on certain models? Perhaps. Thanks for showing us this nice piece.

It's a very good looking watch, I love the rainbow indices of the dial. It is a shame it has ETA movement in it, I am sure Breitling makes in-house movements I think, I could be wrong. But overall I quite like the watch, and it looks quite desirable, yes you are right Bear it is very important to have a very good friend in your life🙂

Pure Bear Clooney. I have never owned a Breitling, although I have owned a wide range of brands (Rolex, Omega, Grand Seiko and more). I agree with you about the external finishing. I find myself attracted to the Superocean II references aesthetically but I never seem to want to drill down and actually go from online window shopping to go into an AD or a boutique and get serious. I love the aesthetics of the Breitling 57 but the movement is a disappointment. I know that there are inhouse Breitling movements but when there are so many choices it is hard to get excited about an ETA movement in a $5000 USD list watch unless Breitling enhances it. There is a Mido heritage reference with a great deal of dial color that is at about $2000. I do not anticipate the overall build quality to be as high grade as Breitling but that is only a guess on my part as I have never held a Mido in my hands.

That is lovely, what a friend. I assume you are likewise as generous mate. Great piece, I own 5 Breitlings myself, and even if dropping in value, they are built superbly well, case, bracelet, dials and the sapphire crystal is always on top. For the more robust models you can't pressure test ( when testing WR ) a Breitling case like other watches, since it needs a specific setting given how extremely robust and well built it is. I find it funny when a Tudor is valued as a better watch, when using the "same" movement as a Breitling... When the Breitling movements are way better finished, imo better time keeping too. And especially way better built, clear difference. Tudor may have the brand love, and watches that fit the general public better style wise, not going to argue with that. Which does explain the market prices. But in terms of quality Breitling is under valued imo. Do you agree mate?
