Congrats on the family! My wife and I just had our 3rd at the end of Dec. My work gave me 8 weeks of parental leave! I was back in the office for 2 weeks, then the COVID mess happened and I've been able to work from home ever since. Having this time with my family has been amazing. I feel like so have a much better bond with baby 3 than my other two. I wasn't able to take off as much time with them. It makes me happy to hear you talk about taking time off. There is still a little stigma against dad's taking time off. We need more folks speaking out on the importance of it. You had me laughing with all the different scarf styles. :D Great video, thanks for sharing!

I started my bearded life at 16 in 1977. With the exception of around two years on an LDS mission I've had a beard for my entire life, post 1977 obviously. Trends have come and gone and through it all there's been my hairy facial companion. When I was a junior in high school I was everyone's go to guy for buying brewskis for the bunch since I was one of only three guys in my high school class of almost a thousand who could grow a decent looking beard. It's funny I didn't ever get carded buying beer until I was 22, again it was for other people. That is not to say that I didn't have my own idiotic time with the brew but I learned the trouble it could get me into and left it in my past. As far as beards go I always thought and said they wouldn't be there if God didn't want us to grow them. Long live the Full, Goatee, Garibaldi, van Dyke, Imperial and Mutton Chops. Let us not forget the Anchor, Verdi, Balbo, Old Dutch, Chinstrap, Circle, Chin Curtain and even the Lowly Soul Patch. There are also those who are devotees of just the upper lip embellishments such as the Walrus, Fu Manchu, Chevron, Handlebar, Horseshoe, Painter's Brush, a myriad of Pencil thin styles and the one that no one can ever have again because some jackass had to go and ruin it for everyone else, the Toothbrush or as it may be better known to you as the Hitler or as I call it the Snot Catcher. Lest the sideburns feel left out there are also a large variety from the time honored "from my face to in your face" gargantuan Mutton Chops all the way to the delicate Federation Starfleet forward swept beauties. So I say to each of you, Let your follicles run free. Cease the infernal "beheadings" of your beautiful facial locs. Throw off the chains of facial bondage dictated by the teaming masses of averageness that society has to offer and finally let your face scream I am free.

Congratulations on the baby! Thank you for sharing your journey and your experiences in the previous video. A few months ago my wife and I experienced our first miscarriage of what would have been our second child. I didn’t really talk about it and only a small number of people knew. I didn’t tell my coworkers outside of a small few because I couldn’t put the words together without the tears and I wasn’t ready to be emotionally vulnerable in front of them. Thank you for having the courage to share your story. Congratulations again on your healthy baby.

Hey Eric, been growing out my beard the last couple of months for the first time and I'm happy enough with the coverage. There is a philosophy about plants: the Snake Plant or Mother-in-Law Tongue that you have at your front door is not good. Pointed or sharp leaves cause bad words, gossip and strife. Plants with rounded or soft leaves are best for entranceways, portals, desks, etc. as they lend to soft words and gentle speech that increases positive communication.

Personally I wouldn't do anything to it other than trim up the back (if only because I don't like the mullet 😅--although, I have to say it doesn't look that bad here, for some reason 🤔... Maybe because the lengths are somehow blended together better 🤷🏻‍♂️?).

You know, I know this myth has been busted a whole bunch of times...but I’ve been watching beard brands stuff a long time...and erics beard does look more dense and thick post the shave, I know shaving doesn’t make it come back thicker, but I can’t unsee the change, I can’t be the only one seeing this, right?

@EricBandholz
@EricBandholz 4 жыл бұрын
It goes with what we say pretty frequently - you gotta grow the beard that works best with your growth pattern. If I grow this beard out for another 9 months you'll find it getting wispy and thin again. It's just because my cheeks hit terminal around 5 months and aren't super dense. At this length I can taper my sides a bit and it plays into my growth pattern which highlights my mustache and chin area.

Because my cheeks are generally thinner and don't grow as long, a shorter beard looks best on me. Really I feel like I can rock about any beard style up until about 5 months of growth. After that it gets a little wispy. I do enjoy a shorter beard as it's lower maintenance and still looks nice.
