Basic infos about them is they have 2 vocalist and 2 rappers in the group but honestly they all can do both. They trained around 4-6 years before debuting as a group. 3 members speaks English really good and 1 is improving and can understand English well which makes it easier for them to do English and Korean in their songs. The name *BLACKPINK* is meant to contradict the common perception of the color pink. It means to say that women can be Fierce and Swag (BLACK) while also being pretty and Feminine (PINK). Their fans are called BLINKS, which is just BLACKPINK smushed together. All of the girls are multilingual, they all speak Korean, Japanese and English (They are very big in Japan, when they perform there they sing in Japanese and change the raps to English.) In addition Lisa, the rapper with bangs, also speaks Thai (she's Thai) and Basic Chinese as she was recently a Dance Mentor for a Chinese reality show. *KILL THIS LOVE* is definitely about toxic relationships, but it's a lot deeper than it appears. It seems to be about breaking up and ending a toxic relationship, and can be interpreted that way. But if you watch the scenes and read the lyrics, the song is actually about being introspective. Each of the girls is admitting the reason that they keep getting into toxic relationships, and they realize that they need to "KILL" that behavior in order to stop the cycle. *JENNIE* on the swans talks about the Yin/Yang aspect, she feels that there always needs to be bad in order to have good, and she's destined to repeat her mistakes. *LISA* wants quantity over quality. She is stealing all of the cereal, she wants it all, even though it's just a short, sweet sugar high that will leave her feeling empty. *JISOO* is walking through the church, realizing that she is weak. She is hunted down by her future, stronger self who mercifully destroys her weaker self with a flaming arrow. *ROSÉ* is also hunted down, she is crying while driving the car, she runs down her former self in a car that has a license plate which reads *EGO* ....so the phrase "KILL THIS LOVE" is actually about killing a toxic TYPE of love so you can go on to have healthier relationships.. ...and yes, there was a Greek mythological reference, the statue on the ground in the Tomb Raider scene is supposed to represent Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. And if you watch *HOW YOU LIKE THAT* which dropped in June (and some people feel is the sequel to KILL THIS LOVE) you'll see more Greek mythological references, the most prominent being Trojan Horses and Rosé, who represents Persephone, daughter of Zeus who was forced to marry Hades and live in the Underworld. Blackpink MV was like movie set, each member has their own set to go with, and they NEVER use Greenscreen and cgi, all of it was real built up sets and Practical effect, they spent million dollar on their MV. in one MV they could have 10-11 different sets with 6-7 different designer clothes for each member. So 1 Billion Views in a year is totally worth it. Even Hollywood artist cant get that much view.
