Had one of these in my hands at TFNation and nearly got him but he was missing the accessories and I kinda feel like they're as much a part of his charm as the rest of him. You had me doing a full belly laugh at a few moments in this one. The beast mode shot with Mach Kick in "frick it that'll do" mode was a full on guffaw moment.

I always looked at Heinrad and thought, "nah, he's too weird even for me, and that's gotta be massive shellformer like the rest of Neo" but that is... a surprisingly solid robot mode! Hell, he's going on the list for my vintage beastie collection

I remember seeing this at a Japanese grocery store in Seattle (I was in my twenties and by then was completely oblivious to Transformers despite being obsessed with them as a kid). Having no idea what it was and thinking it was bizarre, I took one look and passed it by. Now I know I should've bought one.

Heinrad radiates "fun time!" vibes that you should get from every Transformer and every toy (best expressed here 4:13).

Heinards robot mode looks like hed be the serious bot who, through some zany misunderstanding/shenanigans, gets stuck with the tanuki alt mode and is trying to make it work.

I watched Beast Wars Neo earlier this year, and learned that Heinrad can stop time for a while, hence the justification for the clock on the character's design in the show

I’m pretty sure he was in the first episode of RID/Car Robots as a toy/alarm clock for the human, and I was so excited to have a prop from the show (a very different excitement from having the toy representation of the characters)

My favorite part is that there are gaps specifically molded in the shoulder sections so that you can turn off the alarm in beast mode by absolutely throttling the tanuki like he was Bart Simpson and shoving your thumb into his trachea to push down the hidden robot head.

It took me a full 10 minutes to realize the beast form is presenting his "clock and balls" front and center and that was the point lmao

I think the Clock mechanisms forced them to not go too wild on the transformation. Maybe that's what the rest of the line needed - random appliences built into them.

Back in the 00's, I found Heinrad in a mall and was so charmed by his mere existence, I bought him for myself as a birthday present. Sold him a couple decades later, but hey. :B

I love my Hienrad, he was the final figure I needed for my BWN crew. I just wish Takara had done a smaller, non-functional version that was more in scale with the rest of the toys, because scale was a thing back then! His toy is great but it towers over all the other BWN figures.

I got lucky as a young buck and actually found him on Amazon for like $25 bucks, placed him on my wishlist, and my family got him for me for Christmas. Wow, a beastformer that’s got a nether region, never thought I’d see the day. I’m surprised I haven’t heard of at least a comic appearance of that guy. He sounds and looks like the talk of the town that’s gotta lot of fingers pointing and laughing at him that you’d hear about on occasion. But this is literally the first time I’ve heard about him.

Big lots actually did release this guy in a wave of knock-offs where he was painted to look like a badger. The same set has Transmetal 2 Megatron in blue.
