Well that’s funny because that’s what I did last night but I didn’t think anything happened because it didn’t sync . So after receiving your reply I put it back in the buddy and it did work . Now I will try again what you said and see if it will sync . Thank you again! I can’t wait to begin to build beats as you do . Worship music is not just verse and chorus and out as you know . I want to go deeper into the pedal as you have . We are so far away but connected through Christ . Blessings

I hope they add copy-paste functionalities within the editor in the future as well. Editing all by hand is very time consuming. By example, you make a pattern and realize you have to double the bar count to duplicate it and add a variation is now very tedious. It would be much easier with : double the length, then copy-paste the pattern, then edit the new copied one. Still looks like a very basic editor but it's promising :)

thank you very much! First time someone tells me that there IS a midi editor with the beatbuddy at all. Untill now I composed my songs in cubase and exported the midifiles to BB.

I am just starting to use the Beatbuddy for our praise team at church as we can only get a drummer occasionally. I found there were no praise songs to download so I have been using existing that are close and stringing them together. Your video is a Godsend! Thank you so much for being so kind as to share your knowledge on editing midi files.

Maybe it's easier to kidnap our drummer from his new location 😂Really thanks for the tutorial mate. Still haven't decided if we need the original beat buddy or the mini for rehearsal purposes.

I'm new to this thing. I just picked up the BEATBUDDY and the footswitch. I'm deffinately gonna try the editer to create my own beats. I been lookin for somethin that's straight forward and easy to understand. I think this might be what I've been searching for.

Well I tried what you suggested by I had no luck . I’m sure it must be something on my end . I could use help loading new content onto the buddy and then syncing to sd card . I know you are busy but if you ever have the time to make a video for old dogs like me that would be great . Blessings !

May I ask where to get the missing drum sets from? Several songs reference Ballad 1.1, Rock 1.1 or Standard 1.1 but there is no such kit installed in the default media (2.0) and your repository only has the Worship Kit available for download. Are these premium drum sets?

Very helpful, thanks. I notice with transitions and fills that if you edit them you lose the crash cymbal in the last bar. Your transition above does not have a crash cymbal at the end of the bar. If I try to add it, it's never in the right place. How do I get around this? or is it a fault in the BB Manager? - I've just worked it out. You add another bar add the crash cymbal on the first count and then change the number of bars back to the original bars. The cymbal crash is hidden but it still plays the crash cymbal - phew! :D

Excellent videos mate. Wish they would update the midi editor. Having a loop function when making a pattern would be ideal, instead of just playing once through then having to press play/stop again and again, or am i missing something .

it looks like you are using the midi editor in the Beatbuddy Manager. It is interesting that the company does not recommend using it, even though it looks very easy to use. Have you tried the recommended Beat Builder app that is on their forums?

This video really helped me ! I had to slow the speed down to catch all the things you were doing but I finally got it. The only thing I'm having a problem with is you said you right clicked on the velocity and to keep it repeating just to click on each note but I;m not getting that to work. Please explain in more detail. Thanks

It's a shame Singular Sound can't make a sufficient editor for the Beat Buddy. It is THE biggest let down of the pedal. There is so much you should be able to do with it but they just haven't been bothered to get it programmed. Simple things like cut & paste, split a song so you can save the sections and to play it from the cursor position, not from the start of the song are just some simple examples of what they could do to vastly improve the editor.

Great video, but the process sucks! It appears to be very time consuming. The editor should be more like Garage Band where you can just move instruments around a pad that creates the beats for you. This process seems to be for very specific applications. I would opt to download a midi track for the song, and then create separate midi sections for intro, verse, chorus, etc., and select the drum kit to provide the audio samples to go with the midi. Bottom line... a better editor is needed!

dumb question, but is the BeatBuddy hooked up to trigger the sounds or can you work without it and sync or provide it later?

I just got my beatbuddy 3 days ago and tried to update the firmware. During the update the electricity just went dow. As a result i don't have a power on my unit now. I have gone through the process on the forum and download in my mac but still it doesn't have a power. Please help me. I'm also a worship leader here in Norway

Thank you , I’m new to the beatbuddy and also use a Mac . I have put a couple drum sets on the manager but I can’t sync it the myself card . When I want to sync it , it doesn’t hi lite the sync tab. Any idea of what I could be doing wrong ? I also lead worship and want to start using it for worship . I subscribed and now hoping you can help me . Thank you and God bless .

Is there a way to remove bars from the beginning of a song as opposed to the end? I ask this as I find importing MIDI files sometimes creates empty bars on the front of the song and I'd like to simply remove them.
