They saved my life. Their music gave me Peace. It still does 58 yrs later

What happened then....was never repeated with any band or any celebrity. It was phenomenal, magical, unforgettable and up to now , 2020, they are still in the news.

I saw them on Ed Sullivan and on my 9th birthday, I saw them in concert. It was Aug 1965 in Portland OR. They played for 37 minutes. It seemed much longer. At the time, I thought, 'This is the best place to be in the world'. I was not wrong.

The Beatles didn't change my life but I still love their music

I was almost 10 years old that night, Feb 9th 1964, when we all gathered around a small black and white TV to watch the most anticipated TV event anyone up till then could imagine. I remember afterwards laying on the living room floor at my grandmother's house thumbing through the Sears cataloge every chance I'd get looking at electric guitars!

im 18 and I love the beatles and all the music from that era. Wish I knew more kids my age who like this stuff. I can't even listen to jonas brothers, ga ga, beiber, anything even remotely like that. I gag when I hear the crap that they come out with today. Cant beat the beatles.

God, we need another musical super group like the Beatles to wake up today's music industry. The modern scene today reminds me a lot of the pre-Beatles era, boy/girl bands and solo singers heavily dependent on others to write their songs and to produce their music.

I remember I was a kid and everybody was freaking out on the Beatles, but it didn’t stop them from watching them on the Ed Sullivan show. Curiosity got the best of them LOL! From that night on I was hooked and never again will there ever be a group of such talented street kids who change the world of music.

56 years ago,,,,,,,,,,,,and it seems like yesterday. The memories are that vivid.

They put the bar too high for anyone who came after them, they were a perfect as you can get.

Their music is what started my voice as a vocalist same with elvis.. if It wasnt for them then how would I get inspired? Yes it's true they changed our lives completely... thank you john paul george and ringo (Beatles forever) ❤

And now here we are, approaching the 50th anniversary of the release of the final album they recorded together (ABBEY ROAD) and their flame burns as brightly as ever. The Beatles rocketed to the top in 1964 -- and they stayed there. Thank you John, Paul, George and Ringo for being the music of my life.

It has always fascinated me to know how many people from my generation aren't as big of fans as I am. I love the Beatles and have been listening since 1985. PS- They had more number one hits between 1963 and 1970 than any other group. EVER... at least 27 plus hits.

The popluation of the USA in 1964 was 192 million so for 73 million to tune in to one show on TV was unbelievable

It is highly possible that no other group of four young men will ever get together and accomplish what the Beatles did for the music industry To write a song, not that easy. To write a song that becomes a hit, you got talent. To write a hit that becomes number one , you're on top of the charts. To hold the no.1 .2 . 3. 4. & 5 spot (in a row) on Billboards top 100 songs of 1964 , you're on top of the world. Beatlemania , the screaming , the hair , the sound and more screaming.....there will never ever be another Beatles band or anything close to it. For those who were there to experience it....damn... Wasn't it awesome? For those too young and missed it...... I'm so sorry.... Cuz you missed out big-time

Actually, it's their 51st anniversary this year. Their origiknal single LOVE ME DO was released in Britain and reached #17 in October 1962.

They were everything to me growing up and I mean everything we didn’t have KZfaq of course Anywhere moment a film clip was shown on news etc. I would be glued to the television I learn to play the guitar and I love music because of them it’s a lot to ask for a band that the whole world should revolve around them but that’s exactly what happened

John Lennon turned out to be right when he said, after being asked about the secret to their success: "if I knew that, we'd all form groups and become managers". There is no way to put thr once in a lifetime experience of Beatlemania into words so that someone who wasn't there can feel it or understand it.

Even though I came after 1964, I grew up listening to their recordings. My dad had all their albums. I continue to listen to them today. No other group has beaten their presence in pop culture. Can Linkin Park, NYSNC, or Britney Spears compare? You decide.

In late '63 the entire world was thrust into a deep sadness because of the JFK assassination. People cried openly on the streets around the world, he was so beloved. This continued in America until Feb 1964 when the Beatles pulled us out of it with pure joy and magical songs. It was a moment in history that will never be repeated.

It was an historical event on many levels, most because America was mourning the assassination of their present about 11 weeks before and here are four Liverpudlian Lads who put a smile on the faces of young America and distracted everyone for just a moment from the national mourning

@LoveTheBeatlesSoMuch I agree with you a lot. In fact, in my town Kevin Jonas appeared in a Red Mango, some yogurt shop, and the most he got was a couple pictures taken with some girls. If this were the 60's and say one of The Beatles went to a place like that there would be complete chaos, both between guys and girls. No one will ever compare, especially not The Jonas Brothers..

Interesting that CBS News did this report cause it was in I believe December 1963 or January 1964 that CBS did there Ya Ya Ya report about Beatle Mania in England and that was the intro that America got for the first time and the rest was history. Fantastic!

@westeastxybzd: I agree with everything except the part about "I Am the Walrus" having meaningful lyrics. That's like their most nonsensical song! John Lennon even admitted the first two lines came to him in an acid trip. He wrote the song after he heard a teacher was having his students analyze Beatles lyrics. He wrote "I Am the Walrus" as if saying, "Analyze THIS, you bitches!"
