Best guess is this aired on Sunday February 6th, 1994, CBS also aired another story earlier that week. See my other "Beatles CBS News" reports.

The Beatles were the greatest band anywhere at any time. It was always "bright confident morning" when the Beatles sang. They were the most significant cultural phenomenon of the second half of the 20th Century. I hope Paul and Ringo live forever. John and George RIP. They will be playing Beatles music a hundred years from now.

My family was very strait laced. The night the Beatles appeared on Sullivan everyone at school was talking about it. So much excitement! But I was whisked off to MYF Methodist Youth fellowship, so missed it. Hard to imagine now but 50 years ago long hair was considered kind of an act of (shocking!) effeminacy if not truancy. Certainly flat tops and jocks were more socially successful, and popular. This was the USA southern states. My family found the Beatles laughable, considered it just another silly and set to be short lived fad. I loved their music, went out and bought one of there singles, but never played it at home.

I saw them on Ed Sullivan, and I saw them in concert on my 9th birthday. It was Aug 1965 in Portland OR. They played for 37 minutes. It seemed much longer. I thought, 'This is the best place to be in the world' I was not wrong.

I was 17 and 19 when I saw them in concert in Cleveland, OH on Sept. 15, 1964 and Aug. 14, 1966. They didn't come here in 1965 because our MAYOR BANNED them! I am 75 and I am STILL a Die Hard Beatles fan, and always WILL be. When I watch videos of them (and I have a LOT of them) I go back to the SAME feelings I had when I was a teenage girl.

True. The Beatles set off Beatlemania and The British Invasion. Soon enough on June 1964, The Rolling Stones came along and they were known as the "anti-Beatles". The Beatles will always be known as the Liverpudlian group that changed music history forever. 💚💙🧡💖

Yes there is a direct corolination between the Kennedy murder in 1963 and the arrival of The Beatles in 1964, there had to be something so big ,so strong,so happy,so wonderful to bring america out of the sadness and doom that had taken over their lives, after Kennedy had been murdered and the arrival of there music was so uplifting,so happy, bouncy, love filled songs that help america move on and become happy again, there,s been nothing like it before hand and nothing since

Imagine (no pun intended ), Friday morning being a fan of say, Dion or Frankie Avalon, or if you were a dude greasing your hair, donning a black leather jacket & calling your girl a "chick, (which is ironic, considering The Beatles started out that way ), & by Monday Morning, you grew bangs, faked a British accent, & called your girlfriend a "bird".

It's hard to believe how polished they were at such a young age. When it came to performing, they really were old souls. Brian Epstein deserves credit for that. He's the one who cleaned them up and always believed in them, even after every record label in Great Britain had turned them down. One note though, the Beatles landed on February 5th. They played the Sullivan Show on the 7th. It was my birthday. No, they didn't stop by for cake but I let it go, they had a prior engagement. 😁

I'm pleased that AT LAST---Someone drew together those two momentous events, the shocking and worldwide sorrow, of JFK's murder, and the uplifting unprecedented and cheerful happenning, that was the unique arrival of the BEATLES, upon that sad countrys shore. It's just my theory, that the explosive and sudden change, a national release in peoples emotions, and responses to them, that allowed the flood, to be beyond all imagination. It could never be repeated.

@mulambolipe don't talk bull crap! Do you know who MJ is? MJ is the greatest, not a great! Second you said the Beatles are a greater musician than MJ ,you are saying that because the Beatles play instruments(drum and guitar) while MJ don't ,yes the Beatles beat MJ in that regards but MJ beat the Beatles in way more things for example MJ is a better vocalist, better dancer, better performer, better artist image, better music videos and we can go on and on! The Beatles are boring ,they can't dance, they are stiff, lol😂! Is this a joke? How many subscribers and views does the Beatles have compared to Michael Jackson? That's right Michael Jackson has way more than the beattles ! Beatles were huge in Europe and America and few other places but MJ was big world wide, MJ mania is bigger than Elvis and beatle mania put together! That's facts!
