JoesGE.com is a pretty cool place (depending who you talk to it might be more than pretty cool. But hey, I'm just writing this down so that it says something down here, because that's more professional right?) and if you're still reading along at this point you might as well sit down and grab some popcorn because this is about to trail on about how we are this premiere repair service located in Washington State North of Seattle in basically the "Armpit of the US" near Mt baker (Mt Baker has the world record for most snowfall at 1,140 inches in a season). Even though it can smell bad around here we love the fresh air and being near the post office and in a quiet sleepy mountain town certainly gives us much closer access to Team Turtle and Team Beaver (Watch our "Who, what, when and where is JoesGE?" video if you don't get the reference).
All this to basically say that we are all addicted to coffee and stay in the warehouse for ridiculously long hours in order to keep up with the demands of the youth for these two sided head audio devices and speakers that float when you throw them in the ocean or in your bathtub to test if they actually float. On top of that we do like it when less stuff ends up in landfills so we hoard everything on shelves with wheels so that we pollute less, it just sits in our warehouse loosing molecules slowly over time degrading to become smaller and smaller.
If you are still reading at this point you deserve an award, or a high five, or something because you must either be the most patient person on the planet, or you read blogs frequently. And if the latter is the case, then this whole thing must seem pretty short so lets keep going.
We do some really interesting things here at JoesGE which are frequently documented in our sometimes weekly sometimes never vlogs.
Also, if you are wondering how we keep up with the demands of the people so well, its because 90% of the people that work here are all Russian around getting things done most of the time. Yes, that was a pun, you are welcome. We hope you have a pun filled day, because who couldn't use a few laughs?

Seem to have an issue I can’t understand, I’ve looked into all the wires and ports and they are all connected and all wires look fine to the point we’re they look untouched however the speaker still doesn’t work, I remember that I had the headphones on a certain angle were the speaker worked and I’ve heard this happens due to a wire, yet all wires that are shown in this video are fine, is it something to do with the speaker??? Or is it possible the issue is being caused from the other side of the headphones?

Hi, I have the same problem as described (both sides work with wired, charging shows full LEDs, power button dead and unresponsive to a reset). I would send them in but as I'm in Canada with the exchange rate, shipping and brokerage fees (yes I get dinged on them for repairs based on shipper/etc.) it would be too expensive and not much different than price of a new set on sale (Amazon Canada ). As such I'll try my hand at diagnosing and repairing myself and will order parts/supplies from your site if necessary. Also, while I've not soldered in over 30 years and was surprised you can re-use all the existing solder for the new wires - I thought that went against good soldering practices but I guess here wires are so fine and not under any tension or movement that it makes it far easier for us DYIers :)

Thanks for the comment. I would love to help you diagnose the headphones. From your description of the issue, it sounds like this tutorial is the right one for you. You will need to replace the 5 core internal wire, which is responsible for no power issue. I really appreciate the video, and might have made a mess of the disassembly without it, but it probably should be clarified here and on the site, that the "no signal on one side" issue isn't always related to that 5-core bundle. Mine only had sound on both sides while using a wired connection, so I went ahead and ordered the 5-core, to find that one of the two leads running back to the right speaker was shot. You could barely tell from looking at it, and the 5-core seemed fine at that flex point where it passes through. If I had any sense, I would've poked around more with my meter before ordering anything, but I was too lazy to figure out what was going to what, and the cable jack appears to have some extra switching involved. Fortunately, I was able to cut the bad wire back before it reached the hole, splice on a new piece, and re-insulate with some liquid electrical tape, so I didn't need to order anything else, but I'm not too thrilled about that arrangement with the tiny fragile wires needing to bend every time you adjust or fold the headphones up. It would be cool to know exactly what each of those leads is responsible for. I'm guessing the problem pair here just runs directly to that other speaker, as there was a resistance between them which seemed right for a speaker. -Thanks!

hey, I temporarily solved the problem of one side not working by putting a piece of aluminum foil in the jack input. For me there is a problem with the input jack and the bluetooth sensor but I'm not sure. What do you think it is? Too weird that bluetooth works with a piece of aluminum at a certain point otherwise the headphones turn off because it assumes it's a real jack input ...

If the issue persists with the aux cable plugged in then you have a faulty main internal wire. So the 5 core wire in this video will not fix your issue. I would advise you send your headphones into our repair center. We offer free shipping and free diagnostics. Here is a link to the repair form: www.joesge.com/pages/repair-services

The hole that we expanded in the video is also located on the right side. The problem is that the right side doesn't have a removable 5 core wire meaning its is a one piece wire that is part of the main internal wire. Because of this right side repairs are more difficult than the left.

What if they power on and charge but the right side doesn’t work? How would I go about fixing that. I know that the speaker works because when I move around the wire it starts to play if I get it in the right spot
@Joesge

It would seam in this case that there is a connection error in the wiring. Check the solder points and see if they need to be touched up. We also offer repair services here: JoesGE.com/pages/repair-services
