This song was one of the first gospel songs I learned when I was first saved. It became my anthem. Every time it became hard to say yes, I used to pray/sing this song for strength. Invaluable song for Christians of every level. Beautiful, beautiful song! Amen.

we miss beau on the R&B side. He had a short run in R&B, but brothas universally recognize him as having one of the greatest voices we have ever heard.

I saw him perform years ago at the West Angeles Church of God In Christ and he has the anointing. I remember how he said how he wanted to sing this song to his mother before she passed and as I sat there with my mother the tears flowed from my eyes.

I remember him from Star Search beating Sam Harris.You could hear it in his voice back then, one of the best anointed voices I every heard. Be Blessed Dr. Beau Williams stay with God.

Can't remember the originator.... I know Byron Cage has a version with added choir arrangement. It's actually GREAT.

I think Derrick Brinkley did it first. It's been years since your post so you probably found the answer already. I might be wrong, but I think it was Brinkley.
