Welcome everyone in 2023.
First video in new year, due to small channel tradition presents some antique elevator.
During a leisurely stroll around the city, one of modernist tenement houses spotted our attention. So, we decided to get there. There was something really interesting.
The first element that attracts attention from the outside is the original call button. Nowadays it's hard to find that due to fact, that during lots of modernizations, or even renovations original buttons are replaced with the new generic ones. Another nice detail is original "Sowitsch" doorstep.
Whole cab was made from elegant, and light wood. Also it seems to be heavily, but nicely renovated (everything looks just like freshly-installed). Nice to see original buttons also inside, with "Dźwig Schlieren" ("Schlieren Elevator") sign. They keeped also original pre-war instruction! The cherry on top are original ventilating holes on the walls, and of course - folded bench with good-quality leather.
Technically, the elevator works pretty well. But there are visible problems with floor contacts (that's why the light in the cab kept going off and on).
What is more, new door locks are too slow and make weird sounds.
Despite these small problems. This elevator is an excellent example, how to renovate old, antique elevators.
Elevator discovered and documented togehter with "Wiertalok Elevators" @wiertalokelevators23 user (another elevators documentalist).
