Abandoned Urbex Canada

Abandoned Urbex Canada

Күн бұрын

This ship was built and launched in British Columbia, Canada for the Royal Canadian Navy in 1941 to serve in the Second World War. The cost to build the ship was approx. $350,000. The ship is 112 feet long, 18ft wide and the original weight was 79 Tonnes (174,000 lbs) and the top speed of 20kts.
The hull is made out of mahogany. In 1941 She was then known as HMC ML Q-070. She was assigned during the war as an escort boat to the U.S. Navy. It was armed with 3 20mm guns. Operating the ship was 3 officers and 14 men. In 1945 she was sold and renamed the MV Machigonne and her two original engines were replaced with one 400hp GMC. At this time It was updated and used as a ferry boat from 1945 to 1951. The ship transported up to 140 walk-on passengers to and from the Coast. The ship was unused and anchored for over 20 years until 1993 when it was purchased by a couple and updated and fixed up. Then in the early 2000’s the ship was purchased by another couple. They gave the ship extensive interior upgrades and lived onboard for over 2 decades. It was later purchased and there is plans to resell or restore the ship. There is even plans to offer tours onboard the ship and sail its previous route.
I hope to see this ship fixed up one day.
Thank you for your service.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

Oh WOW❤😂❤ I LOVED THIS!!! Even more than usual! Everytime I watch your opening/beginning of each explore, I love seeing photos & drone shots of "our" former sites. It feels like we're all going right along behind & beside you as you tell us the history of what we're seeing. I LOVE everything you explore; but I particularly enjoy the big war ship, and now this escort/ferry/home❤. Also Love abandoned trains, cars, barns, airplanes, farm machinery, in addition to the homes that hold lots of secrets. You made me laugh so hard, after I started giggling, as you commented about the "tiger" carpeted stairs.😂😅. I was excited to find an explore I had somehow missed. You're a really great young man Brent! Your parents must be very proud of your channel and you especially. Thanks very much. Please stay safe and take good care of yourself❤ My exploring days are over. But finding your channel and getting to know you; and gobon all these fun & interesting, educational "trips" helps fill my time and keep my mind off of "things"! I would purchase and restore this lovely old yacht in a heartbeat if I could. Making it handicapped accessible & all! Then I'd live in it year round❤😂🎉❤

This historic boat should be in dry dock, not sitting in risky open water. One day it could be at the bottom of the inlet if bad people damage it or something. At least it'll have a better chance of surviving until something becomes of it wouldn't you think? ...Interesting sad report - thanks fer sharing!

This boat is absolutely gorgeous and I love the history behind it. I'd have no problem living in this boat with its 1970s looking motif. This boat has so much potential and life left in it I hope that someone does it justice. Why is it parked so far out in the bay? That's the question I want to know. Great video as always!!!

Cost of moorage in BC pretty much anywhere with hydro, cell & internet hookup, basic amenities & pump-out etc is seriously pricey. Charge by the foot, and at 112' you'd be seriously hard pressed to even find anywhere capable of taking on a ship of that size and if you did, the cost would be prohibitive. Well over $10K per month. So what people do is park them, anchor them off-shore in Federal or Provincial waters, the bigger the boat-ship the more remote one has to go and even then there are time limitations, owners subject to inspections & heavy fines & so forth. Actually considered navigational & environmental hazards. Its a sort of romantic-idyllic vision & dream for many however the reality far from it.

Awesome video and what an amazing find. Also in fairly sound shape too considering how long it’s likely been out there. Hopefully this will be restored in the not too distant future. If you haven’t had a chance to do so be sure and check out the former B.C. Ferry “The Queen of Sidney” up the Fraser River near Mission - lots of history there. Her other sister “The Queen of Tsawwassen” is also located somewhere in Howe Sound but not quite sure how easy she is to board..definitely another historical gem. Thanks for the video.

I lived in ontario for 35yrs and retired home in cape breton,I had a trailer in Durham on the saugeen River me my brother in law ziggy and a fellow cape bretoner wanted to go fishing so we got directions to a lake well we had enough supplies for 5 days and drove down a road 20 miles no way to turn around had no choice so we came up to a clearing and off in a field in the middle of nowhere it was the wrong road anyway there was a caboose on rails with 4' of grass well it was late and we stayed in the caboose it had a wood stove and a hole in one corner of the roof we fixed it for rain just in case, next day we frond lake behind it got lots of trout stayed 10 days they at the camp had a search party looking for us as we were partying lots of food berries mushrooms fish we had lots of food I got a milk thing 3' high tin I guess don't know the proper name for it,jug a thermometer with a train on it and a green clock electric clock with a train on the face and to this day and that was 25yrs ago still works and it is from the 40's checked it out so an abandoned caboose in the middle of no where deep in the woods 100 miles north of Durham is where we were all explained to the opp who pulled us over hide your beer and not legal yet pot.any way it was an adventure better than staying in my van work van not for camping we were going to stay in hammocks the time we spent there was weird like now 35yrs later you here stories about sasquatch throwing things at you well for 8 of the 10 nights we were there wood would bounce off the caboose cause we would find them in the morning the last 2 nights we challenged what ever was throwing wood at us we didn't know so come on fakers no wood was thrown so kind of weird what it was that did that but we didn't care we had light, music ,and a wood stove table and chairs and beer and not legal stuff, fish, food and cards and are in a caboose best memory of North ontario up by lake superior.miss ontario.great province.cape breton is tiny and its rainy and cold.i am a cape bretoner OK to visit but don't say u love it until u live here.and halifax who owns us for now yes for now till we separate from the mainland,it sucks,so I prefer ontario cause it's close to home lived in Victoria,Calgary, flin flon Manitoba and Ontario best province my opinion.long story for ya bye, caper smoking legal stuff now bwahhhhh.

I noticed this trend, almost always something awkward happens when trying to remake old ships, of course there are projects where the rework and restoration are done perfectly, but this is very rare, almost always awkward devices are obtained, which then rot somewhere ownerless, despite spending a lot of money...
