caroline - Timothy is a natural at it, like DiCaprio before him...he’s at his most comfortable in front of the camera, exploring the role. You can see it. He has all of the traits of a gifted natural. He’ll be one of the greats in not too many years. Watch him rise up to be the biggest leading man in Hollywood in about 5-10 years. Just like Leo did.

What really blows me away about this scene is that timothee really portrays this side of his character that is the “bored and annoyed teen” but then he’s also really sensitive and super paternal towards his brother in the scene and it’s just two extremes that are portrayed so closely next to each other, it must’ve been extremely hard to act them out and keep them separated. But he pulled it off and the result is stunning!!
@sign5434 жыл бұрын
Eva Aulbers - Yes, that’s a good observation. He’s one of the most natural young talents to come along. If you look back at others before him...DiCaprio, River Phoenix, Joquin...they have this same quality. They just seem to naturally know how to all into a role. I love this kind of acting. I’m also impressed by the dad...I forget the actor’s name, but he was always a comic, but he’s really showing that his acting chops go far beyond slapstick and goofy comedy. The mom is the same woman from Liar, Liar in the 90s with Jim Carrey.

This scene should have been the ending scene imo. Either way, this was the most memorable scene due to the longer take and the acting. Felt genuine.
@whothis99495 жыл бұрын
This being the end would’ve been deceptive. the reality is the hard drugs change you. he wouldn’t be the same old nic, it takes time to become a percentage of the person you were. What I liked about this scene was the reality that even the most sincere love can’t get in between an addict and their drug. It hit home with him saying he was gonna be there for the swim meet only to relapse and be back on meth during that swim meet. What you saw here was someone who’s still an addict having a moment of sunlight, which is important to depict.

This scene made me cry. This reminds me of my older brother who has struggled with addiction his whole life and has been in and out of rehab. When he said “hey is it weird seeing me after all this time?” So self consciously and with a tinge of regret over not being there. The way he says “Ok”. So humble, mature, broken, and caring. He’s mourning the way things used to be. And trying desperately to make things go back to the way they were.

I have never resonated so much with a comment. I also had an older brother struggling with drug and smoking addiction. I was so aware of the situation at such a young age. He would leave the house and not come back for days. My mom would breakdown sometimes because he wouldn't come home and he left home when I was pretty young, so when I saw him the next time it felt different but he was not different, the way we would interact with each other would always be the same. It felt so normal but broken at the same time.

My two sons are just about the same age difference as these two boys here. I so badly wanted a moment like this between them, but it never came to be. I once took them on a long hike to the beach. My youngest and I had a blast and we held hands by the shore while the waves crashed up against us. My eldest held back just sat on the beach, angry that he was even there. It’s hard for me to watch this scene and not want to tell the mother, no let him go…let them play together in the ocean waves. There is no time like the present…I am glad they at least hung out in the sand. That was an incredibly sweet scene.

I visit home frequently but I still feel like I betrayed them and left them behind to fend for themselves. My younger sister has even said so herself. Although she doesn't blame me personally she says the burden passed onto her until she moved out a few months ago. Sometimes you did all you could until you reached your own breaking point. Don't feel bad about yourself for drowning your sorrows when it's the most available option to cope in this trainwreck we call society. Im really hoping that Timothee takes the same approach to acting that the greats are taking, i.e. , focus on the craft rather than the awards. If your craft is good, you'll get the recognition. Take Leonardo and Joaquin and Pitt as examples. As much fame as they've had, they have been committed to the craft. If he takes that approach, the approach to become a great actor rather than to become a celebrity, this kid is going to be one of the best actors our generation will ever witness.

What can I say about this scene is, that, when you feel strange in a society, you clinge to the children, the most innocent ones, that just want to have fun. The adults are boring. I don't know if it is necessarily that thing that you want to be a hero, or good uncle or something, it's just maybe you project yourself to those kind of beings around you.
