Ай бұрынBeautiful Evening - TROPHY WHITE PERCH - Big Pickerel Bite Off - Just a wonderful spring evening. I wanted summer so did summer things that we will do in summer anyway. Pretty cool huh? The fishing started slow but rammed up into full blast with a trophy sized white perch and a big pickerel bite off. Have to dart back and get my spoon back from the pickerel!

Do the perch ever come up closer to the surface, or do you find them only near the bottom? Thanks.

I found they will chase bait to the top when they are active but tend to stay within 5' to the bottom in water less then 15ft - 20ft plus they can suspend, they seem to attack up on bait they are feeding on. They trophy sized ones 2+ pounders I found behave much like bass are solitary and travel in smaller wolf packs

Reel nice video Jerry, I have to start searching for white perch in a more dedicated way as I`ve had such little contact with them they`ve fallen off my radar. You`ve inspired me now to do a search for them right away, I know there are a bunch in the Charles River in Boston but the water is too polluted to bother with anything here. Thats the fun part is finding summer perch. The bigums come second! They move so often. somedays I can be rowing for hours and hours before I find active ones and all the fishing comes to order. somedays may just be sunny here sunny there. Others its all out!

We used to slay the white perch on Greenwood Lake. Now here in NC and they use them and bluegills catch big bluecatfish and flathead catfish.

They make great shark bait as well on the salty surf had some big'ums on big'ums!
