Beautiful kites on a fine winter day

My 2,011th kite video. On a very rare fine day (with a good breeze), I flew a few special kites, and Peter flew his Snake. If you want one of the few remaining Triangulation kites in the new colour scheme, go to www.pictureprettykites.com, but you'll have to be quick. They also have both of the butterfly kites!

Nothing gets much attention on our beach, Armando, but I do think they look good like that. I didn't use connecting lines, I just passed the flying line through a hole in the kites and tied the bridles to the line with larkshead knots.

Good job with the Ray's Jim, nice to see some blue sky, yet another week of strong winds and rain to come here had to cancel an event yesterday as unflyable

Thanks, Colin. A miracle happened here and I managed three days in a row of flying, although only one of them lasted long because of lack of wind on the other two. Sorry to hear of your bad luck. Cancelling an arranged event is always sad.

I would like to post my kite flying adventures to,so I was wondering what kind of video recording device do you use?

I film my videos with a quite old Olympus E-M5 Mk ll camera which I bought second-hand a long time ago. Any camera which takes video will do the job. My editing software is an even older application that has not been available for years. It's how you do it, not what you use, that's important, so just give it a go.

They used to ship almost anywhere, certainly to the UK. Maybe you can email them and ask why.

I asked. Just got the "we don't ship to UK" mail. Disappointing. Will try and contact a Stateside friend to see if he can order then repost. 😒

@@TheKRU251 That sounds a good idea. Here in NZ, we have a service whereby NZ Post has a base in the USA where orders can be sent and they then forward them to NZ themselves. There are lots of US companies that won't ship here (although PPK is not one of them) so that service can be very useful. Maybe there is something similar for the UK?

No, I'm not that clever. Almost all of my kites are bought. I'm a flier, not a maker, but I'm glad you liked it anyway.

My Triangulation kite arrived yesterday! I am excited to take it to the beach tomorrow, hoping for a decent wind. Unfortunately, the weather in Nova Scotia has not been good for flying this summer (wildfires and thunderstorms/ flooding)

It seems the weather is bad everywhere these days. Our winter has allowed far less flying than in other years. Have fun with the new kite!
