Welcome back to the crossroads! in this weeks lesson you'll learn this E minor blues solo. I'll explain easy scales I used and what I was thinking when I wrote this.

It's easy (perhaps human nature) to make anything complicated. To simplify and clearly convey complexities the way that you do is rare, highly commendable and most appreciated!!! Subscribed & shared... Go for it, John.

I took lessons over 20years ago and was really overwhelmed by what seemed complex at the time. Started my journey again a month ago and your channel really makes it simple and intuitive. Thank you for helping to reignite my passion for guitar!

You’re very welcome ☺️ pleased videos help! I know what you mean, sometimes things can seem overwhelming, it can either be we are not ready for the information yet or see if you can get explanations from different teachers, sometimes it can be the way it’s explained 👍

Hi Steve, Thanks so much for writing. I know it’s hard at first the chord tone thing but it’s definitely the way to go to sounding more melodic so do stick with it! It took me a while 😀👍

Good lessons !! But will be easier with the tabs .
@crossroadbluessecrets

Hi Norman, thanks so much. I’ve left out the tabs because to get better you have to know the notes on the fretboard and the notes in each chord. The tab will tell you where to put your fingers and you will be able to play it but you won’t have a clue what you’re doing. It’s hard at first but the only way to improve 👍

Can't believe I'm the first to view this, John. Lovely use of chord tones, I like the concept of using the chord tone to precede the root. Did you change the pick guard and pick up covers on the strat? I have the same roasted strat with the aluminum pick guard.

Hi John, Thanks so much for being no 1! Yes, a good little secret that chord tone thing, you can get a lot of mileage out of that. Yes I did, I liked the aluminium one but I just thought I’d see what the mint green would look like 👍 What do you think?

@@crossroadbluessecrets I like the mint green. I have parchment coloured pick up covers and controls. I'd have to change all those so I don't think it's happening.
