If I remember right, Judge said that the joke was that Beavis and Butthead would have loved this song because of the hard hitting riffs, but they are so stupid and impatient that they decided to change the channel before the song started. That makes this clip even funnier. By the way, Hum is a phenomenal band.

I'm pretty sure that's the joke Mike Judge was trying to make. Like if they were so stupid and kept it going, it was a song that they would have loved because of the hard hitting riffs and tone

It might’ve boosted Hum’s career (the way B&B famously did to White Zombie’s career), and thus altered the entire second half of the decade, preventing the rise of boy bands, Creed, rap metal, Britney & Xtina, Woodstock ‘99, etc. The most unfortunate channel change in TV history.
