As a fully qualified guitar princess, I can personally vouch that this idea works both ways. Excellent upload.

Thank god I found your channel this early. I just started learning to play the keyboard a couple of weeks ago and your videos are gold mines. Short but still packed with so much knowledge. Im not trying to be a pianist I'm just playing around with Ableton and decided to get midi keyboard. And usually when I feel restrained by my knowledge I go online to learn a couple more chords or scales or ideas then I go back to Ableton to play around and your videos are perfect for that. The first week when I started learning I was doing scales exercises and I almost fell asleep. I know I should probably start learning the basics but I know I won't get anywhere I have no patience and I'm learning whatever I want or need at the moment.

Big problem with this video, I could hit the like button only once. Hitting two notes together is called Double Stops and is used all the time on the fretboard. I'm working on Burgmüller (Moulin de Ville) Opus 100 no 4, La Petite Réunion now. That's an exercise in thirds. My piano teacher is happy since I'm transposing it into all the keys. And he's happy I'm practicing it on the ukulele. I like Burgmüller since he is so musical. But someone said that the challenge was to make Czerny musical. Maybe that would be a subject for one of your videos? Specifically Opus 599, no 36 when he starts using sharps and flats. There are some strange dissonances.

Got that Floyd Cramer style. I think of this sort of thing as bending note on keys.
@MangoldProject

For bending you have a pitch wheel.
@johnnyswatts

@@MangoldProject, ain't no pitch wheel on a piano. This is how blues pianists emulated bending to the blue note. There weren't no pitch wheel on my Rhodes or on my Hammond J-122. If I wanted to bend notes, this was how I did it.

Thank you for the lesson! Is it possible to do the same with minor chords?
@MangoldProject
@MangoldProject 3 ай бұрын
Absolutely. The minor pentatonic is the major pentatonic built three semitones up (e.g. A minor pentatonic scale = C major pentatonic scale = A C D E G), so you can use all of the "motions" I demonstrated here while playing on an A minor chord.
