Does it feel to you that there aren’t enough HEROES in the world today?
At times, it seems like many of us have lost our way. We’ve become so burdened by the size and number of problems in our own lives and in the rest of the world that we’re overwhelmed on how to move forward. We feel victimized and WE WANT HELP.
We’re looking for heroes and role models to ENERGIZE us and give us the COURAGE and MENTAL TOUGHNESS we need to fight our best fight.
But what if I told you the HERO you need is already INSIDE OF YOU?
I’m truly thrilled to share with you one of the more special and remarkable conversations I’ve ever had on the show with my guest Robin Sharma.
Many of you may already know about Robin through his work over the past 25 years. He’s a globally renowned LEADERSHIP EXPERT who has sold 20 MILLION BOOKS in more than 90 COUNTRIES, including his latest effort, THE EVERYDAY HERO MANIFESTO.
His client roster reads like a Who’s Who of BLUE CHIP organizations that include Microsoft, Nike, Unilever, General Electric, FedEx, HP, Starbucks, Oracle, Yale, NASA, and many others. Robin is also a deeply passionate HUMANITARIAN, helping children in need live happier, healthier lives through The Robin Sharma Foundation for Children.
As Robin points out, the world needs EVERYDAY HEROES, just like you. But before you can transform into the hero you were meant to be, you’ve got to make sure your HEART, MIND, HEALTH, AND SPIRITUALITY are in sync and ready to work on your behalf to complete your PERSONAL HEROISM EQUATION.
Once you’ve achieved this, there are victim-to-hero leaps--such as dealing with your SUPPRESSED EMOTIONS--you must make that will help lead you to your own heroism.
Robin and I get into how to deal with your EGO and TRAUMA as part of this process and why connecting with your MORTALITY is critical to your heroic journey. It’s one of many obstacles Robin reveals that can rob you of your PEACE if you’re not fully prepared to deal with them.
We also talk about the importance of MENTORS and how their INFLUENCE as heroes can make all the difference is other people’s lives. You’ll want to hear what Steve Wozniak, Robin’s 5th grade teacher, and his father have in common and how they made a huge impact on Robin’s life.
Robin is also going to give you a big dose of how to think differently about WEALTH. You’re going to reflect long and hard about how you measure wealth after you hear Robin’s thoughts on the EIGHT FORMS OF WEALTH.
If you want to become a hero, you must also learn how to overcome your FEARS.
Robin calls this HUGGING YOUR MONSTERS, and it’s a fitting way to end a REMARKABLE and REVEALING road map on how you can take steps to become an EVERYDAY HERO.
Main Points:
0:00 Intro
2:01 Why the world needs everyday heroes
3:43 Methodology without philosophy is empty
4:50 Victim-to-hero the leaps that one must make
9:57 How to become more intimate with your own heroism
14:13 Heartset, mindset, & other kinds of sets we have
19:40 Dealing with ego
23:15 When Robin's 10 years of personal journal vanished
25:44 Connecting with your mortality
31:30 Advice from heavyweight mentors
38:52 The eight forms of wealth
43:15 What is healthset?
45:31 Dealing with obstacles that take our peace
52:38 Emotional residue around smartphones
56:59 Has Robin always been the way he is?
60:05 How Robin leans into fear every day
1:05:47 Robin's advice to everyone listening

I am a 45 yr old black woman and I need to tell you what a gift you are. I grow every time you have a new episode. Sometimes it’s one of my heroes and other times it’s someone like today’s hero. He met me right where I am and called me a hero. He confirmed that I am doing all the right things while I feel like I’m so far off course. He then offered some additional hacks. Thank you both. I have been causually suicidal in the sense of not wanting to kill myself just not caring to save myself and yet you even bought meaning to that and helped me see how that is a great part of the journey. Just thank you. Maybe some day I will get in my vortex and land in front of you and be able to thank you in person. In the meantime I will let this be my meditation for this week, share it with some of my confidants, and buy the book. Be Blessed young men and keep saving the world with your personal growth 🙏

Tremendous philosophical and Practical teachings with Robin Sharma. The greatest gift you can give someone else is presence! SOPAWC Standard Operating Procedure of Absolute World Class. Genius is less about Genetics and more about habits. The part that really resonated with me was the heartset, mindset, healthset, & soulset. Because, My purpose in Life is to Transfer the Experience and Energy of Aloha with everyone I come into contact with. And I define Aloha as; When the heart, mind, body, and soul are in alignment with each other. And you are able to transfer that energy from your being to everyone around you creating an experience of Love and Caring in times of Peace and/or Adversity. Much Love and Aloha!! #edmylett #maxout #KVibe #maverickmanao

I am a follower of both of you. I have found If we define ourselves by the things we do each day our routines throughout our life and not our positions and positions we get through life easier as the superficial things change ...my potential never changes so my actions get better as I define myself through bettering those actions .. the causal effect is better results.. .. I had been in and out of wheelchairs in my life,on life support for 3 years after recovering I suffered a stroke suffered all kinds of adversities in all areas.. Our response is built on strength, our belief system we use, and believing we are heros! Cool interview!

Only halfway thru & already smiled, cried in pain, cried with joy, giggled aloud and nodded a thousand ‘Yeah’’s.. Resonating with every syllable here - your vibe feels & learned sharings mirror my own values and validate that I’m okay here now as this Me…. It’s the best, I’ve been such a meanie to myself lately for not doing & being better. Im just realising now how detrimental it’s been that lately I’ve even been holding a flame to myself even when the issue hasn’t been within my control; zoomed out it’s part of the avalanche, I’m hurting myself maaaajorly, TWICE!!. And nothings better for it in fact everything’s much worse & I’m in the wrong hotel elevator for my desired Penthouse.. Need an optimised plan, & to and be even more the Most Me I can articulate while I arrange my doings for the way I Wanna feel Thankyou for this golden conversation, the diamonds throughout are absolute marvels! Warmest love for you Real honest beauties, each & both 💪🏽💎❤️‍🔥⚡️🏆🧿🌹

This was an awesome interview! I agree it was way too short. I could have listened to you guys for hours. Now I have to get the book to read and study this material much deeper. Thank you for providing me with much needed insights that I was searching for today (even if I didn't know I was searching for it.

Robin and Ed are such gems :) Thank you gentlemen for the wonderful insights and amazing conservation that we were able to listen to. I especially love the part where you guys discussed getting more intimate with your inner heroism. It’s helped me to tap into the inner giant within.

It's been a little while since I watched a full MaxOut interview, and this one was super special to witness. For some reason I was feeling down and even a little frustrated with myself, and my go-to was Ed Mylett talking to Robin Sharma, and I genuinely just feel better after watching this. Always felt grateful and seriously privelaged to be a part of your community Ed. For me, it started in February of 2008, when I first saw you speak at the LA Convention Centre. You said something that stuck with me all these years.. You said, "Faulty beliefs cost human lives." So, since then, I try to make sure that I have as few faulty beliefs as possible, because I don't want them to cost my life. Thank you Ed 👏🏻 Please never stop helping improve lives ❤️

Subhodayam. Ours is a do it yourself life where we are everything - we are our own friends and foes. We create our own little universe, moment by moment. Our suffering, discord, loss of peace or desperation... all of our own making. No one can influence you or manipulate you unless you yourself want to be. Remember, your suffering is caused by your own reaction, expectation, habits, weaknesses and limitations... all set by you and your attitude. Learn to appreciate... small things to begin with and soon you will realize how your world changes. There is beauty, there is humor, there is magic... if only we care. Live, care, appreciate and enjoy this moment while it lasts... and it lasts! God bless us all.

Wow it's so amazing to hear this conversation. Two men opening up and honestly showing appreciation for each other in the most genuine way. It warms my heart and brings a tear to my eyes. Thank you for your wisdom both of you. I followed both of you guys at separate times in my life and now you two are here together a blessing indeed

So amazing this interview!!! So inspiring!!!. I also love that you talked about death because I have the same opinion as you both. I got the book in Christmas but I haven’t found the time to read it, and after this, I am really looking forward.

Love the concept that death is an upgrade. I've worked with The Salvation Army and when someone passes they say they are "Promoted To Glory"!
