The design of the characters were literally perfect dude aside from the fact that Hal’s gloves weren’t white it was perfect.

I think if they would’ve made his eyes one color like the comics, almost as an energy, it would’ve helped a lot

I truly enjoyed this movie, I feel dc has continuity issues. Once they start something , they don't see it through till the end. They get cold feet and give up too soon . Imagine this green lantern in the same universe with Snyder's man of steel. By the way Ryan is the perfect guy to play Hal Jordan

Honestly? I’ve always loved the live action take on Hal’s suit. I don’t know if it is comic-accurate or not, but I know the general idea of what Green Lantern is supposed to look like. To make a suit that just looks so ‘alive’ with cosmic energy. All from the center of it’s insignia, with the little lines that channel this energy throughout the entire suite. While not amazing, the CGI was pretty great to me. Pretty awesome for a movie in 2011. But imagine what the suit would look like in a reboot with the animation capabilities we have today? God that would be amazing.

I honestly really liked this movie, shame on the fans for overhating it bc they snuffed out any chances at seeing more Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan...

First positive: DC got the cosmic light of Hal Jordan's white cosmic eyes correct for live action = a powerful alien force guiding him. Second positive: The energy suit is pretty cool too. I can't see Hal sneaking off to put on his uniform. The energy suit transformation makes excellent sense. ☕

Hal Jorgan (Green Lantern) & any heroes who wear domino (or painted) masks only conceals their eyes & eyebrows but not their hairs, ears, noses & facial features. Their friends & families (even their enemies) would easily recognize them at a close range, like how Carol easily deduce Hal's identity by his cheek bones, despite speaking in a different voice. Even body heights & shapes are (difficulty or possibly) recognizable.

Seriously though,... of all the things to make CGI.... THE MASK!?

Fun fact, Tomare was the lantern who was supposed to protect Krypton

the mask is only needed when protection of your identity is needed (and the mask only covers around the eyes and cheekbones). yeah, gonna be real hard to tell that identity, sort of like superman's glasses

Man, the world building of Oa and the suit and Ryan’s acting are amazing, I love it Maybe it’s not as big as other movies, but the CGI and composition are very well done This movie was definitely not ugly and rushed, it had a Lot of good things going for it Idk why people hate it, maybe I can see when I watch it fully again

Looking back at it now, I will cut the cg costume some slack. I think this was one of the first comic book movies to use 100% cg costume with motion capture (I believe Iron Man 1 & 2 used a mix of practical and cg). So naturally it’ll look rough. Fast forward to today, cg costumes have gotten better and more prevalent. However I still hold firm that the costume should’ve been practical. At least with Iron Man it makes sense considering a full practical costume of the armor would’ve limited mobility for RDJ and the stuntmen during action scenes. I also think it would’ve been cheaper too.

So since the movie didn't happened after Deadpool killed his actor with a headshot, I want my money back!

Hal Jordan's sector (which includes, obviously, Earth) is Sector 2814, so Tomar-Re, Green Lantern of Sector 2813, is effectively Hal's next-door neighbor (by Green Lantern Corps standards of "next-door"). Makes sense that he'd be the one chosen to welcome Hal. There are also Green Lanterns that would be a lot weirder for Hal to grasp than a "talking fish". In the comics, there's: 1. Dkrtzy RRR. a Green Lantern who's a sentient mathematical equation that mathematically proves the existence of free will (I kid you not), 2. Leezle Pon, a sentient hive mind composed of millions of viruses, who handles cases that are literally too small for other Lanterns to handle. 3. The current Olapet is the 23rd consecutive Olapet to bear the ring, over tens of thousands of years. 5. Mogo, the "least social" Green Lantern. Mogo doesn't attend meetings on Oa, because he'd destroy its biosphere. Mogo is a living planet. His Green Lantern uniform is comprised of him changing the arrangement of the equatorial forest that covers (and is part of) him into the image of a planet-sized Green Lantern ring. If a Green Lantern dies without being able to pass on their ring, Mogo gathers it up until a successor can be found (that's seen in the ancient war against Darkseid scene in Justice League -- the ring lifts off from the dead Green Lantern's finger, zips around a little bit looking for a worthy bearer, and then Mogo (off-screen) calls it home before Darkseid can grab it.). He can communicate, though, as he can project ring fascimiles (tiny Mojos or humanoids if he thinks a tiny floating planet would freak someone out) and speak and hear through them at virtually unlimited distances. He usually doesn't, though. He really isn't all that social.

10 years I've been hidding how much i loved the movie. At least in its time. If i watch one again, I will be realizing about the bad effects, or bad humor, etc. But how'd they constructed Oa, or how did James Newton Howard scores the movie. And of course i loved the sound effects. Well, the movie is bad or god depending of tye way you have watched it. Personally green Lantern had a bit of inspiration (movie), and the character (Hal Jordan) and the universe he represents. Deserve more love

Many people criticised in the movie how he travelled from earth to sun in mere minutes, however in the comics, Hal Jordan has travelled the entire universe within hours. That means he can travel at greater speeds than lightspeeds

The sheer scale of each lanterns individual sector is fucking absurd! 80,012 GALAXIES for one lantern???? Most people cant even comprehend the immensity of the milky way. There is such a thing as too much, too big, too powerful, too fast, etc. DC just doesnt get that.
