So turns out in this video I missed out on how multicellular works (needing to eat and grow!) so I will be covering that in the future. The main point of the video was for the colonies either way! :)

also you can get multicellular organisms, you just dont get to play them, they spawn off you and go do their own thing and you are left as a single cell organism

Multicellular works! It's just that when you exit the editor, you only have your main cell, but when you eat enough, you get a new cell instead of getting the evolve mode.

I have seen the colony stage work for other KZfaqrs, after evolving you will start out as one cell then you need ammonia and phosphate to mitosis your other cells into existence, because, of course, colonies aren’t born with every cell.

Other posts say that you have to eat to spawn the other cells of your colony. I want to point to my idea again: Make a Species with the purpose of enriching the environment with Oxygen, Glucose or whatever. Just so more live can form. If you made them a colony, they would also become near impossible to eat. And with colony mode, you can have cells specialized for combat, movement, or production of one critical resource.

This reminds me of agame called cell lab: evolution sandbox It's a great mobile game. It's sandbox but puzzle based I had a lot of fun playing it like around 5 years ago. It gets very complex and once you get the hang of things, the only limit is your imagination and like 20 different cell type player can make. I found out needing more by the end, making spore-like multicellular organisms where I programmed it to create a layer of 'skin' around itself to protect itself from the predators in the environment and then keep dividing over and over, and burst out of its own skin and eat the other predators. I was very proud of that creation. I'd suggest for you to try it lath. It seems right up your ally
