Күн бұрынNew to leading a team? You most likely have some fears. In this video I'm going to be discussing a couple things you can do to overcome some of the most common new manager fears.
Getting a promotion at work can feel exhilarating but it is also scary right? You don’t know what you don’t know and from the moment you step into the role you might be feeling like someone is going to realize, you actually don’t know what you are doing. That’s a feeling a lot of us have.
Overcoming imposter syndrome especially as a new manager is common and it is something that will always be with you, but it will change over time. Dealing with self doubt and promotion anxiety is normal and in this video I will talk to you about how you can learn to take action even though you might be feeling a little uneasy on the inside.

Thank you for this video! I’m the youngest in my field, it can be lonely sometimes. When you put all your energy into so many people, it feels like their validation is most important. Now me knowing that we can’t have it all makes me more relaxed in the way I perceive situations!

I love #2: Uncomfortable situations. You address it beautifully. In life we are always going to be put in uncomfortable situations. if you are a manager, never ask an employee why another employee was able to complete a task but you cant, that is the dumbest question to ask and i see it all the time. why would they know the answer to that????smh! you re better off asking the other associate how they were able to do xyz then share it with the employee who is falling behind or tell the employee how to get the task done faster.

if you are a manager, never ask an employee why another employee was able to complete a task but you cant, that is the dumbest question to ask and i see it all the time. why would they know the answer to that????smh! you re better off asking the other associate how they were able to do xyz then share it with the employee who is falling behind or tell the employee how to get the task done faster.

Another great video, Makeda! I couldn't pick a favorite tip but really like weighing the consequences to saying "yes" to something. You must know there is always a trade off. Also, I don't mind if my manager says, "I don't know" as long as they also say, "I will find out and get back to you." Thanks for this video!

Unfortunetly some companies want you to hit the ground running - not giving you time to develop. Some companies understand that technical skills cannot be learnt over night but at the same time they cannot understand that Leadership skills cannot be learnt overnight, think that its just about telling people what to do!. Everyone knows that's an old school mindset when it comes to managing people.
