Thank you for sharing Chief Nursing Officer Ms. Burkes study. I am also an alumni of SSU. It is interesting to see how the RN evaluates the ND and how ND empowers the RN. I will revisit your questions, in the morning and answer them when my dog and cat, is not pushing the phone out of my hand, for attention lol . Ty again

I keep getting asked to be the Assistant Director of Nursing in Long Term Care facilities, but so far no organization can provide me with an orientation to the job. I've noticed also, how I have to ask people in the company to give me information about my job. versus them willingly offering the tools for competency in the org. I've noticed that no two companies do things the same way but I've yet to see anyone train me to do the job the way the company wants it done. It makes me very mistrustful of the nurse leaders that are supposed to prepare me for success. How does an organization not train someone at this level of management? I've opted not to take anymore management positions that do not have a structured training or orientation to the job. To me, its career suicide not to be properly oriented to the job someone expects you to do- especially a job this high in the hierarchy of nursing leadership.
