Just so you know. He was spraying sugar syrup on them to keep as many from flying off as he could. Makes em a bit sticky and forces them to groom. Very cool though, I am a beekeeper myself. Just a hobby keeper; only 4 colonies.

You’re the only person I’ve seen provide any details at all about what the guy actually did to get rid of the colony 😆 so what happened do you think? Were they killed or relocated somehow?

Most likely relocated, if the pest control company is smart they would work with local beekeepers to relocate swarms and hives they encounter.

Not for me! It happened TWICE in Cincinnati at Riverfront Stadium, and I happened to be at one of those games! That time, there was a short delay while the bees settled down on the screen above and behind the visitors' on deck circle. The Reds' game eventually continued while the bee colony calmly went about its business, but a bunch of season ticket holders bailed out!

the spray is only a temporary paralyze, they fall asleep and into that cannister, then they take them elsewhere to repopulate.

@@lIlIlIll-kg2cm Thanks for explaining that. I wasn't sure from the limited video footage of him spraying the swarm, but it was said that most of the bees had been captured in a container. So I figured they would be relocated. I assume a lot depends on the survival of the queen. Any idea if this kind of removal includes identification of the queen to ensure she's in the container with the bulk of the bees?
