*Correction: She does not use lard (pork fat). She uses Cookeen which is made of vegetable oils.

That is exactly how I make mine...looks so much like mine. I think olives capers and raisins give pastelles its distinctive taste..I love them all. This was great..👏👏👏👌👌👌

I also like to flavour up the cornmeal because I like to steam them in fig leaf and use it as dumplings😄

I just love your method in the preparation and did you use soap to wash the fig leaves, and not just pure white vinegar!. I’m from Grande but not anymore and would really like to try this and is one of my favourite savoury. delicacies. Thanks your video is so interesting to watch and you spoke very intelligent and informative.
