Finnaly someone good at giving directions

I'm so glad I found this! I have a 2014 legacy (same body design, last year of this one) that has a reverse camera already from the factory but it's now inoperable and I'm looking to buy the OEM part and replace it myself. A shop quoted me $500 for them to replace it! The part costs about $150-180. I may in fact have to remove the license plate bezel, and this video answered how to remove that and the other things; so you DO have to remove the nuts from the interior with a socket wrench. I do understand that this is for installing an aftermarket reverse camera on a Legacy that's not an OEM from the factory, so I won't have to do all that you're showing to the dashboard and radio screen. However I get a much better idea on what I need to do for mine. I appreciate you posting this as a precursor step to the DIY owners!

Great video! Are you happy with the view from where you installed the camera? Since it doesn't point down, wondering if you're able to see your rear bumper or the area below it? I'm debating whether to install where you did or put a surface mount camera on the lip of the bezel between the license plate lights and have it angled down a bit. Thoughts?

Where the hole was drilled on the trunk bezel for the camera, was it sealed with anything or did the camera comes with a gasket to prevent the elements from seeping in?

Are both black wires on the tail light bulb ground ?
