It's good anyway to start over again if you fail because then while you're getting to that point where you failed you're building up focus and adrenaline because you don't want to start over again.

Apostolis Moshopoulos you don’t need to wait years. The piece will only take a few months, six at most if you’re determined.

Apostolis Moshopoulos I’ve been at it for one month. I’m at two minutes. I learn the fastest when I’m excited about it. Record yourself playing when you learn a new section. Then only listen to it when you’re out and away from the piano. You’ll hopefully hear yourself in a different setting and be impressed. I almost always come back to the piano later that day, really excited to learn more.

Hi! Self taught pianist here:) I've learnt the third movement and my best advice is to take it slow from the beginning and to regularly practice. For the very busy parts, i suggest breaking it up into sections and working on it one section at a time and gradually combining it together as you go! Happy playing!💜

One dark night a long time ago my grandpa played this at a grand piano at a party. I've learned this piece recently and this feeling, that you can play it, by memory, from your heart, it's just incredible, sometimes I am moved to tears while playing :) I am still a beginner/maybe low advanced, because I started to learn to read sheet music. I can play 10 Songs/Pieces, including this piece and für elise by Beethoven, but I've learned with Tutorials and Intuition. Now I want to become better without using my whole Life KZfaq Tutorials :) This piece helps me alot if I am nervous or sad. You play it, and you feel better, but also sorry for Beethoven, because at the time, where he wrotes this sonata, he began to loose his hearing and he had to face, that he became deaf :/ Sorry if I do mistakes, I am also learning english :D I am from germany.

There’s such a subtle complexity to this song. It’s so simple, but so not simple at the same time. How masterful. And how it exudes the depths of sadness-it reminds me of Picasso’s blue period painting of the man with the guitar.

I sorta wonder if Beethoven was one of the forerunners of the Internet Troll. My Reasoning: Beethoven was fairly well established as a composer at this point in his life. This movement (1st) is the slowest movement of this sonata, and though it's complex to a really enjoyable extent, I kinda suspect it was actually designed to make listeners initially think "sounds nice, but geez... it sounds really, uh, simple to play, Beethoven, what gives? I mean, I could probably learn to play this...(?)". Beethoven shrugs this off and keeps playing. The second movement comes along and people's confidence in learning starts to drop a bit "OH, okay, yeah this is a little more complex - good job, sir! Beautiful work! But still - I mean, most any decent pianist could probably learn this in a straightforward manner, ya know?" At this point Beethoven is more or less smiling inwardly as the second movement comes to a close... and then the proverbial(?) bass drops, along with everyone's jaw, as the third movement gets played via a blinding flash of movement that the audience soon comes to realize is actually the pianists' fingers on the piano - "good luck following this one, suckaz! see ya!" - or whatever the period equivalent for that phrasing might have been...

This song is the very first one I wanted to learn, 6 years ago using this tutorial. I finished it last week with this same tutorial... How many more tutorials, videos on this work, score doodles (I have learned to read a score in the meantime). It was not without a certain emotion that I put down the final chord. However, the work is far from over ... always something to work on, to improve; polyphony, melodic work, these triplets which must be perfectly regular, the bass: not too strong but still enough ... And above all: to give meaning to the whole, what to tell as a story? work of a lifetime.

Looked at this video a year ago when I was pretty new to piano and thought "this is too hard I will never be able to play this". Now after a LOT of practice I just think "when does the hard part come?". May be boasting but fuck it, I'm proud of myself. Remember that with a lot of practice, everyone can be good at piano. Everyone.

ehab nofal this might kill your joke and you might already know but I don´t give a poop :v i´m going to say it anyways Beethoven wrote the Moonlight Sonata for his girlfriend, they couldn´t see each other becuse they lived far away, she lived in Narnia or somthing like that, so then Maestrissímo Beethoven wrote letters to her and wrot the moonlight sonata, buuuuuut shit started to happen, his girlfriend wrote him a letter that she was goingo to marry (arranged marriage of corse) with her neighbor and Maestrissímo Beethoven got PISSED OFF and that is what the 3rd movement means, you can fell the anger and desperation of Beethoven in that masterpiece, and you know wht this woman couldn´t get married with my ninja Beethoven, its becuse 1.- they lived waaaay to far, and ninja beethoven aint got time fo that, and no. 2.- Beethoven didn´t have (it don´t how to say it in english) "titulos de honor" and Beethoven didn´t want any becuse he wanted everyone to be the same, that no one was better then another person, when they told me this story I was like daaaaaaaam, he is humble all the way, that is what every musician needs, they need to be humble. Big respects to Maestro Beethoven and thank God that they ddin´t get married and that Beethoven maid that masterpiece. (sorry for my bad english, I usually don´t use it anymore)

Listening to this, somehow I feel sorry for poor Beethoven... Especially at some point I can almost hear him crying... Something really bad must have happened to him in order to make this piece. Did he realised he would become deaf (he actually became deaf at sometime)? Maybe he lost someone he knew and loved? anyway I don't know the reason but this reason drove Beethoven to make one of the most powerful classic masterpieces ever made... I love it!!

honestly i had no trouble learning these pieces. i found them more harder to memorize, rather than hit the right keys. as some say, you just have to play what's on the sheet.

It's probably just how bad your piano is, my piano makes anything you play on it worse.
