I agree. Two months ago I wrote "The echo in this church suits the second movement perfectly! Listen at 19:10 and you will understand." Maybe also the ceiling of cotton helps it up a little bit. Never have I in a hard resonating church heard this warm sound before.

To me, both Beethovens pianoconcerts no 3 and no 4 comes before his 5:th. And here we have Son in a wonderful interpretation of the 4:th. It cannot be so much better. She reveals all the the emotions in this consert in the most distinguishing way. Bravo, Yeol Eum Son!

I have listened to a great many recordings by a great number of conductors and orchestras in my lifetime. I try to express my opinion honestly and briefly, unless I find a performance of truly exceptional merit, which may prompt me to be a bit more descriptive. This was an excellent performance, to be sure, but I have heard many others of this piece that I found more moving, which is what I seek in listening to music. I recognize that what moves me is not what might do so for others, since each of us hears and perceives music as a uniquely personal experience. This orchestra, as well as the NDR Elbphilharmonie, consistently has produced quality music that I have enjoyed for a long time. I just feel that a brief comment indicating my overall impression of the performance is better than simply hitting the "Thumbs Up."

She wanted to do a bit more, but this year a new government responsibility cut the music festival's budget and put pressure on her. Since the Pyeongchang Daegwanryeong Music Festival belongs to the government, the position of music director has no power. And as her overseas schedule increased, she did her best until the end, despite the fact that she turned down the re-contract of her music director position earlier this year. Even under these conditions, the PyeongChang Daegwanryeong Music Festival finally found a new music director and reduced the music festival period again. When there was a refusal to renew her contract, the music producer had to find a new music director from then on, but it didn't. She missed her overseas schedule in January earlier this year due to health problems. Rather, I consider her quick decision to resign fortunate. She is not just a performer for the PyeongChang Daegwanryeong Music Festival. The days ahead for her to play are still long. With her concert tour starting again in February, I hope she will walk the roads of her performance tour healthy and happy.
