Great work. Pics are getting smoother. The V shaped cut seems to be a great way to keep the sections under control while finishing the cuts. I see the natural progression of grabbing the bottom of the trunk section with the Vermeer as well. Simple and natural, but still genius!! Keep the size/ weight of the pieces right and the Vermeer can literally take them straight from the crane to any destination you choose!

By the time we cut trees down the beetles are gone. Usually if you can see a dead tree the beetles have flown. They like green tender stuff.

Hi August when you find the other trees with beetles is there a legal requirement to remove it or is it down to the owner to say yes/ no? Do you have to do something different with the chippings then as they are from trees with beetles?
@AugustHunicke5 жыл бұрын
Northern Ninja Runner no legal requirements. Beetle (if present) is obliterated by chipper in my opinion.

Well after that little clip with the truck I'm waiting for its dance move video to come out LOL. Question have they come out with a pesticide for those damn bark beetles? And you do anything as far as spray something or do something to hopefully keep the Beatles from going to the other trees when you're breaking down the tree?
@jacobsladdertreetech28295 жыл бұрын
The only thing they can do now is spray before they get on site.

Additionally, the MB himself jumps down and helps with the ground work between picks. He even has time to fly the drone, and we are thankful he does, because those shots add so much to the perspective and overall understanding of the task featured.

Without seeing the tree, and having zero experience. I say 5 picks
@richardbohlingsr34905 жыл бұрын
I don't see any real reason to try and predict the number of cuts. Only taking picks that stay in the safe working range of the crane. Once a crane starts to tip there is no way to stop it and regain control of the load. Nice work guys.
@AugustHunicke5 жыл бұрын
Richard Bohling Sr ya, we’re just always searching for a friendly competition to sharpen preliminary assessment skills.
@richardbohlingsr34905 жыл бұрын
FYI don't take any offense, Just a word of caution for you. When the climber completes the cut, its your load and if your overloaded, its your problem. Always error to the side of being light, never being heavy. It takes an operator a while to be able to judge lifts. Experience works in your favor, but no one is born with that knowledge. Be safe, never sorry.
