Putting invisible first and then transitioning into the whole being dead things was a needed change. This felt all over the place tone-wise

In a way, it made the song more impactful. Everything was upbeat and suddenly... little-to-no instruments. Lydia is softly singing about how she feels invisible. There’s no humor anymore. It made the Invisible (Prologue) more, I don’t know, special? It stood out for sure. I’ve gotta say, though, that I prefer it at the beginning. However, I don’t hate it in the middle.

I like the idea of the curtains opening and 'the whole being dead thing' starting right away. Invisible is a more gradual start. I think i like both versions equally.

Same, starting with Beetlejuice was too much for the reviewers so they got a lot of flack from the get go, just didn’t seem to be able to recover.

It sounds bad that they put Invisible in the middle because we are used to it at the beginning. But the truth is that Beej saying " this show has everything" is the best

It sounds emotional when it’s used at the beginning instead of that “unholy chant” that spooks you at 3AM to that Mountain King tune

So basically, first it was gonna start with the whole being dead thing. Then invisible. Then, back to it again. Meanwhile now on broadway, it starts with invisible, then transfers into the whole being dead thing.

This sounds a strange. Either early dc or very early broadway run. Because it sounds inbetween the finalised dc script which I have a copy of

You don't have a DC script, you have a workshop script. That's why it's different. This is early DC.

It’s not a lower key there’s just parts in here where the melody doesn’t jump up into higher notes.

Alex actually did an interview on this. He said his favorite line that was cut was the bit about "going both ways" and he even did a jerking off and fingering motion with both of his hands.

to me it sounds like he's supposed to be doing two different impressions? like saying "bob?" and then responding to himself "sheila!". it still doesn't make sense that way though so idk
